Lindsay Lohan

Prosecutors To Use

Past Lies Against Her

3/15/2013 6:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lindsay Lohan
's past may come back to haunt her when she goes to trial next week for allegedly lying to cops after her car accident ... because TMZ has learned, prosecutors will attempt to introduce evidence she's done exactly the same thing twice before.

Law enforcement sources directly connected to the case tell TMZ ... prosecutors are convinced that Lindsay has an M.O. when she gets into trouble on the road -- telling cops she wasn't driving, even though she was.

Lindsay is being prosecuted for allegedly telling cops she was a passenger in the Porsche that crashed into a truck last June on Pacific Coast Highway when in fact she was the driver.

We've learned prosecutors want the jury to hear about 2 prior incidents:

1. May, 2007 : Lindsay was busted in Bev Hills for driving under the influence after her Mercedes struck a curb at 5:30 AM on Sunset Blvd.  Lindsay told cops she was a passenger in the car. LIE.

2. March, 2012 : Lindsay was leaving the Sayers Club in Hollywood in her Porsche just after midnight when she allegedly struck a pedestrian and fled.  She told cops she was a passenger. LIE.

Our sources say prosecutors will attempt to introduce the 2 incidents under the law that allows evidence of "prior bad acts" that shows a pattern of misconduct.

This is what ROL is stating, and they are quoting the Law firm:

Paul Wallin of Wallin & Klarich, said the attorney who was requested from his firm is David Wohl, a regular legal analyst for Fox News.

“We are awaiting Ms. Lohan’s approval,” Wallin told the Los Angeles Times Saturday. “Mr. Heller made the request. The court and our firm want to ensure the integrity of this case.”

A well-known lawyer who lives in Corona is about to receive even more attention.

David Wohl will be in Superior Court in Los Angeles on Monday, March 18, as actress Lindsay Lohan (in photo, above) faces trial.

The troubled starlet is accused of lying to Santa Monica police about whether she was at the wheel of a Porsche when it struck a dump truck last June. That, as well as a reckless-driving charge, threatens to violate Lohan’s probation after a shoplifting conviction.

Wohl, 51, offers legal insights on Fox News television about once a week. The law firm where he is an associate, Wallin and Klarich, has a radio show. Wohl usually practices in Orange and Los Angeles counties, and the firm also has an office in Riverside.

Now, Lohan’s father, Michael, has hired Wohl to represent his interests. Wohl said in a phone interview Friday night, March 15, that Michael Lohan is unhappy with the legal representation his daughter has received. The actress’s father is trying to keep her out of jail and out of a rehabilitation program that would keep her locked down for 90 days.

Michael Lohan plans to ask the judge to allow Wohl to co-represent his daughter or to take over the case altogether.

“He’s desperately trying to help his daughter,” Wohl said. “Obviously Lindsay has a longstanding problem (with substance abuse) that is the underlying problem of all her missteps. He wants her to get help.”

Regarding the tweets someone mentioned from Wohl to Blo, am I the only one who finds it odd that a lawyer is talking about this on twitter?? I know he didn't say much, but still... Is this the new version of a legal ad in the classified section of a newspaper?? At the least, it seems to verify that you can't reach Blo unless you know which club she's crawling through. LOL Hope she's wearing green undies for St Patty's day luck...or are they always green?? Ewwwwwwwwwww.
