Prince

Could Be Called to Testify

in MJ Wrongful Death Suit

3/31/2013 8:58 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0331_prince_mj_gettyPrince and Michael Jackson never worked together in their illustrious careers ... until now ... because TMZ has learned Katherine Jackson intends to call Prince as a witness in her wrongful death lawsuit against AEG.

As TMZ first reported, MJ's mom and three kids are seeking $40 billion in damages from AEG for its alleged negligent hiring and supervision of Dr. Conrad Murray.

According to docs filed earlier this month, Katherine's legal team plans to call nearly 100 witnesses ... with one of them being Prince.

It's curious, since Prince and MJ never collaborated, but we're hearing Katherine's legal team believes Prince had a bad experience with AEG in the past that could be relevant.

Can you imagine Prince on the witness stand?

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."

They never recorded together but they did meet several times and respected each other. They were competitors but they respected each other.

40 billion? How is that amount justified? It's not and MJ's camp will loose because of this outrages amount. 40 million would have been so much easier to justify.

Prince is the smartest most talented artist alive. 10X that of MJ and Elvis put together. I hope TMZ had his permission to use his picture or he will have it pulled.

I dont think Prince cares for or hung out with the child rapist. I am a HUGE prince fan and what Mikes mom is saying, does not make sense.

Rant On

Michael was weird and on the backside of his career before AEG. The Jackson family is looking for a scapegoat so Michael's name can be exonerated. Too bad. He lived in controversy, died in controversy and will always be remembered within controversy. Cased closed, move on Jackson's you already 'got paid'.

Failed Prince "Let's Go Crazy" reference. But i'll let it slide. I'm sure he'll find a way to not have anything to do with it. Otherwise he'll probably charge her for his appearance.

Oh, great. Now Prince has to get dragged into this mess? I know there are a lot of die-hard MJ fans out there that want "justice" but suing AEG for 40 BILLION is ludicrous. They claim they want all these billions for the income that MJ would have made had he lived. Sorry, but MJ's estate only gained large sums of income following his death. It wouldn't have been nearly that amount if he were still alive and touring today. He would have made a lot, I'm sure - don't get me wrong. But to the tune of BILLIONS? I think not. It had been a loooooong while before MJ had a chart-topping hit/album/tour. He was super famous - but he wasn't selling songs like he used to. So in that regard, I'd have to side with AEG on that issue. Maybe they should be held accountable to some degree - that's debatable. But I don't see how it's justified to have to pay out 40 BILLION. Ridiculous.
