Eazy-E Hologram

A-OK with N.W.A

5/15/2013 2:38 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0515-eazy-e-dj-yella-gettyDJ Yella -- one of the founding members of N.W.A -- will not be reaching back like a pimp and smacking the person who greenlit the Eazy-E hologram ... 'cause he thinks it's pretty damn cool.

TMZ spoke with Yella -- who also produced Eazy's first solo album -- and the guy tells us he thinks it's GREAT that his deceased friend will come back to life (via hologram) to perform at the Rock the Bells hip-hop festival in September.

"It's cool that a younger generation will get to experience [Eazy's] music," Yella says.

Yella tells us he's "most likely" going to attend one of the shows ... and REEAALLLY hopes the hologram performs "Boyz-n-the-Hood" and "Foe tha Love of $," alongside Bone Thugs.

The 45-year-old rap pioneer says ... he feels the hologram is a "pretty nice tribute" to both Eazy and N.W.A ... but says he was kinda hoping the group would score an even bigger honor.

"We should have been in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year," Yella says ... "But this is cool too."

When did the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame start allowing non-rock and roll groups in? Maybe hip hop/rap should create their own hall of fame? Or get into the Grand Ole Opry?

For all the people who are being smug and acting like who are these guys. These guys just didnt revolutionize rap they revolutionized music as a whole. Without them you'd still be listening to nerd **** geeks with long hair and love ballads. They gave other groups the balls to say what they wanted to say and were threatened by the FBI and even sent to prison for performing on stage. So who? Yeah youd still be listening to Poison and White Snake not Nirvana and Guns & Roses Americans love their Freedom and Constitution so then show these guys respect even if you dont like the music

They appear to be a group of young gentlemen who enjoy each other in a sexual manner. Latent queers....

If sense were common everyone would have it.

Hall of fame became a joke a long time ago. The committee puts these obscure way-behind-the-scenes people and others who have nothing to do with R&R to what, up their cred? Yet there is a virtual grocery list of bands who should be in there and are not, because of the committee's anal-retentive views. The hall isn't even credible anymore. Why bother?
