The "Glee" cast is finally beginning to heal after Cory Monteith's death -- so says the late actor's co-star Jane Lynch ... who tells TMZ, she found new comfort during today's special memorial organized by Monteith's gf Lea Michele.

Lynch was out in L.A. when we asked about the memorial -- co-organized by "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy -- where the cast and crew gathered to say their final goodbyes to the late actor, sharing memories and music. Lynch gave a glowing review.

As we reported, 31-year-old Monteith died from a heroin overdose at a Vancouver hotel on July 13.

So far, it's unclear how "Glee" will handle Monteith's death on the show, but Murphy has said there will be a tribute episode that will address his passing.

I don't feel sorry for anyone who gets addicted to drugs, unless someone forced it into them. People know what drugs do to them and yet they choose to do it. They bring their deaths upon themselves.

“It’s essentially the toxic effect of two depressant substances in combination, being really hazardous,”
The substances work on two different parts of the brain and shut down a person’s respiratory centre in the brain until their breathing starts to slow, then stops.
“You’d be under the effects of the drugs to the point where you wouldn’t be aware or be able to call for help because you’d be sedated.”
Such overdoses often happen when people are alone and have abstained from using drugs for a while, a combination of alcohol and opiates is just a huge risk.”
“If he was alone and it appears he was using alcohol, those would be two dangerous combinations but of course the stigma and the shame around addiction often has that unintended consequence of driving people into an environment where they might be alone.”
Heroin in Vancouver, often called China White, is typically strong and comes from South East Asia, compared to Los Angeles, where the drug tends to originate from Latin America.

He die of a drug overdose. While tragic it was self inflicted stupidity. Here is a guy with the world at his doorstep and he tosses it all away for a momentary high. Ya the sympathy bus left long before his body hit the ground.

some people are just so ignorant. No one on this knew cory monteith or anything about what he was going through. I had respect for him trying to get himself clean 2 times before , obviously he just needed some more help. It's always tragic when someone so young dies.
WIll miss him on Glee , the show won't be the same without him x
Can't imagine what all his family and friends are going through x ,
