Teresa and Joe Giudice are each free on $500k bond ... after surrendering to federal authorities in their fraud case.

As part of the terms of their bail, both Teresa and Joe had to surrender their passports and are restricted to New York and New Jersey.

Joe, who is not a U.S. citizen, is subject to drug testing. Teresa will not have to subject herself to drug testing.

The "Real Housewives of New Jersey" couple is scheduled to be arraigned in federal court in New Jersey on August 14.

As we previously reported, both Joe and Teresa are facing 30 years in prison after being hit with 39 counts of fraud.

Teresa's attorney has previously stated that she will plead not guilty to the charges.

Now, is this the same federal government that's accused of allowing the IRS to sell personal data of groups the gov. "officials" disagree with? Or is it the one accused of allowing the IRS to spy on citizens? Or the one that didn't come to the rescue of it's own libyan ambassador & told the Marines to "stand down" (not help him in other words) for so long they all wound up dead? Is it that government that is saying someone lied to them. REALLY??? How dare they!!

Let me guess Teresa, it's someone else's fault.

I doubt the drug testing has anything to do with him not being a U.S Citizen.

This is what happens when you don't live within your means. These idiots made enough money to live way more comfortably then the average person......NO that wasn't good enough. They had to live like they were worth billions...idiots..they deserve every bit of this. I really hope they don't get out of this one...

Federal court--nothing to mess with. They're in some serious trouble here. And I've never watched their show, is this how these two look all the time? These are some scary ass faces.

Who knew? All these years Juicy has been in the U.S and didn't think it was worth his time to become a citizen? What a dog gone shame!

Ok, all theses charges sound extremely serious. The average person for sure would end up in prison. Is there any chance these two idiots could just get a slap in the hand, because money bought them great attorneys? Any law experts here?

I'm certainly not condoning or defending their actions, but from 2001-2008 there were literally THOUSANDS of people obtaining mortgages by grossly overstating their income. Those mortgages were called SISA Loans (Stated Income, Stated Assets) and they came with ridiculously loose underwriting guidelines and much higher rates/costs. There are probably a lot of people who got these loans years ago reading this who are sweating right now.
