Transgender B.Scott

Sues BET For Forcing Him Into Men's Clothes

8/7/2013 12:53 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

B. Scott -- an openly gay transgender person -- is suing BET, claiming the network humiliated him during the recent BET Awards by yanking him off the show because he was wearing women's clothes.

Scott claims in his lawsuit -- obtained by TMZ -- he was hired to be the Style Stage Correspondent for the pre-show in June.  At the beginning of the show, Scott claims he was wearing a flowing black tunic and black pants ... which he says were approved by BET honchos.

Scott claims after the first segment of the pre-show, he was pulled backstage and told his garb wasn't acceptable.  Scott says he was ordered to "mute the makeup, pull back his hair" and remove the women's wear ... which included heels.

Scott says they forced him to change into men's clothing [see below].  Nonetheless ... Scott says he was still 86'd from the show and replaced by Adrienne Bailon.

Scott says he was humiliated and suffered damage to his reputation, claiming BET is guilty of discrimination based on gender identity as well as sexual orientation.

He wants $2.5 million minimum from BET.

Calls to BET were not returned.

What a sicko! Hopefully this man gets the help that he needs. This is what happens when society devolves into an anything goes mentality. This is perverted and wrong and needs to be called out for what it is...disgusting!

It's a man, baby

I guess if I wanted to be a doctor I could wear a lab coat and stethoscope all the time, even if I was working at a construction job. Just because someone "wants" to be something doesn't mean they are. He was born a male and is still a male. If he wants to wear dresses he should try to find a job at a drag queen show.

He looks more like a woman in the "man's" clothes!!!!

He/she had the right to say no. He/she does not have the right to $2.5 million. Get over it. You were replaced. Maybe it was because you were no good at the job. It happens to everyone. It has nothing to do with gender or lack thereof.

Why is TMZ calling HER a HIM? If SHE is transgender you should respect that and use the proper pronouns.

Why is he complaining about those shoes? I love the metallic blue flats more than the heels and I'm a female!

I find it somewhat disrespectful that TMZ is using male pronouns. If Scott identifies as a woman then TMZ should use female pronouns. I always thought TMZ was more progressive than that.

He looks amazing in both outfits and I hope he wins his suit (he uses male pronouns on his site, so I assume it's his preference). 2.5 mil is not about the size of the money for the victim, it's about what amount would make BET not act like this in the future. If he asked for 10k, it would be nothing to them and they'd keep on acting like bigots.

That things needa to have a seat . Nobody wants their kid watching a man dress up like a girl

If he was wearing pants then changes to female clothes it might take attention away from the show. Don't the producers have a right to dictate clothing and making no different than in a movie as it is a broadcast scripted show?
