Hero's Mom to Usher

Drop A Beat

At My Son's Wedding, PLEASE!

EXCLUSIVE

Usher is publicly thanking the men who saved his son from drowning in a pool this week ... but the mother of one of the heroes wants Usher to show his gratitude in a different way -- by becoming a wedding singer ... TMZ has learned.

The mother of Ben Crews -- the audio-video worker who pulled Usher Raymond V out of his great aunt's pool -- tells us her son is getting hitched next week, and she thinks it would be a nice gesture for Usher to sing at the wedding.

Mama Leigh Crews tells us Ben isn't expecting any money for his heroic deed --  but she says a tune or 2 would make his wedding unforgettable.

Usher released a statement saying "I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews.  They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."

We called Usher's rep.  So far no word back on whether Ben will get a really good reception.

If that's the only thing this guy wants and Usher's in town, I say why not? He saved your kid dude! Give him a wedding gift of a lifetime! But, do it as a surprise! Find out where the wedding is and show up without pomp and cir***stance and leave before you are found out... but not before pix with the wedding party!

Nice low-class way to extort someone. I'm no Usher fan (bastard unleashed Justin beaver on us) but as Chris Rock's comedy skit said, "It's your job, you're supposed to do that! You want a cookie?"

Wow! That's pretty sad to guilt Usher into performing at her sons wedding. Maybe he has a prior commitment that day but if he can't perform, a lot of people will think badly of him. Wrong thing to do.

It would be great if Usher had the time to perform a song or two at the guys wedding, but he doesn't owe him anything. Her son did the right thing. It would have been the right thing even if the parents weren't famous and couldn't pay him anything. Every deed doesn't have a dollar amount attached to it.

Wouldnt anyone save the life of a child , if they could.
Pretty rude of this lady to suggest Usher sing at her sons wedding., instead of giving her son money.
Who says he has to give him money for doing what anyone would under those cir***stances.

Seriously

How about Usher staying at the hospital or his home with his son that nearly drowned next weekend! The mother did put a little black cloud over her son (Ben Crews') good deed by asking for something that she had no part of and certainly no right to request for.

I think he should sing at the wedding. Saving his son's life is priceless.

Her son isn't expecting any money? Are you kidding me? Any suggestion that a good samaritan might be entitled to payment for rescuing the life of a child is typical of the unmitigated arrogance in the American culture. An adult to make such a comment is vulgar and absent of basic common sense and decency. You think the rest of the world hates America because you are the biggest, in fact, it's because you are the stupidest, most selfish society on the planet. How dare this hag use the rescue of a child as an opportunity to manipulate the father of the child. Despicable!!!

That's fair. He should sing for them. It's not like they're asking for money. I think Usher will do it. If not out of kindness, at least out of personal integrity and PR work.

That is so low. I agree this has now minimized the heroric aspect by turning it into a "you owe me" attitude even if it was the Mother asking for it. That is just embarrassing.
