Michael Douglas & Ex-Wife

Sorry, Your Son's No One Special

Michael Douglas and his ex-wife, Diandra have just been derailed in their effort to see their imprisoned son -- ironically derailed by a group that fights for prison reform ... TMZ has learned.

Cameron Douglas is currently serving time on drug charges and prison officials are not letting visitors see him -- including his parents.

Diandra has been enlisting Hollywood celebs to sign a petition posted on Change.org -- a petition urging prison officials to let them see their son.

Her campaign was picking up steam but suddenly it disappeared from the website with no explanation.

We did some digging, and contacted the Drug Policy Alliance, which actually spearheaded the petition drive.  DPA officials told us they had a change of heart ... the sentiment was that it was unfair to help individuals and not focus on the big picture of prison abuses.  It seems there was also a feeling that it didn't look good to help famous people and not everyone else.

So Diandra and Michael are back to square one.

Cameron - wise up.

All you had to do was keep your nose clean and do your time.

I'm sure your father has enough $$$ to put on the books for you, which would easily enable you to appease any "problem" inmates should conflict arise, and to do your time in relative comfort.

You have so much more going for you than many others in your situation - a famous name, wealthy parents, and a soft place to land once released from custody.

Rather than focus on your advantages, you choose instead to act out, violate rules, and then whine that you're not getting the special treatment you so obviously feel you deserve.

I wish Cameron and his family the very best, but I don't believe he will ever grow up and take responsibility for his actions. Why should he, when his father continually rescues him and fails to hold him accountable?

I like Michael Douglas, but I think he could do a much better job with Cameron by telling him to get it together rather than making excuses and allowances for his son's bad decisions.

Don't do and sell drugs. She what happens. He has to learn a lesson. His son is an adult and has to learn to grow up. His father was no role model either.

I think that it is Ironic that the same Award show Honored a Dead Heroin Addict that Accomplished one roll in his life, and the same show Promoted Heroine Addicts that can't have Visitors in Prison because he tried to Smuggle Heroine in Prison.

While they may not think his son is special they could probably help others with similar problems if they would ease up on them

Agree. He is no one special and even if he was he is a law breaker - end of subject. Maybe Bubba will show him the error of his ways cause as a teacher you suck.

If it is something they would do for another person, why not help this person?
Then it is reversed discrimination not to help him simply because his father is famous.

Famous people HELP obscure people who have the same problem. Dumb reason.
Even dumber, is why he can't see his son.

"Beware of those in whom the urge to punish is strong," said some unnamed philosopher.

Furthermore, if the government cannot keep "illegal" drugs out of the prisons, what makes any of us think they can keep them off of the streets?
