Tracy Morgan Accident

Driver in Fatal Crash

Pleads Not Guilty

6/11/2014 1:16 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

0611-kevin-roper-splash-01Kevin Roper -- the truck driver facing charges over the fatal crash that involved Tracy Morgan -- pled not guilty in a New Brunswick court this afternoon.

Roper is facing charges of death by auto and assault by auto. His bail was set at $50,000.

Roper was driving a truck for Walmart on Saturday when he struck Morgan's limo. One person died as a result and Morgan is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Roper has not only maintained his innocence ... he says he's a scapegoat because a celeb was involved.  He says this was simply an accident.

Good for him. If he wasn't under the influence of drugs or alcohol I'm not sure why he's charged. Accidents happen every day unfortunately. As unfortunate as they are, they are accident. To be charged criminally doesn't make sense to me.

Sure he did! How is he going to get around that nasty text he sent about owning the road! His GPS will show his sleep records as well as other info. Job loss, probation & walmart will pay big bucks!

I know why that lawyer has his arm around Roper, it's because WalMart is paying Roper's attorneys fees, until he's found guilty, then WalMart will drop Roper like a hot potato and he's on his own, and WalMart will have all the evidence (from defending Roper) they need to prove it was Roper's negligence alone, and none of it was WalMart's fault. Pretty slick, WalMart.

The lesson everyone should learn from this experience is be careful what you post on social media. This genius thought it would be a good idea to post that he hadn't slept in 24 hours and he was going to run over anyone who gets in his way. I can guarantee you the prosecution will drill this image into the jury that the truck driver had lost control of himself and was a wreckless driver. That's a tweet that changed the course of this mans entire life.

He's partly right about one thing...if it had been just a average Joe nothing would come of it and we wouldn't hear about it. I'll wait to judge until all facts are in.

If he is doing his job why is he charged for An "accident" it was a mistake. This world is so backwards, you throw a person in jail for anything nowadays.
