Adrian Peterson

Man Accused of Killing Son

Arrested for Kidnapping Child's Mom

The man suspected of killing Adrian Peterson's 2-year-old son last year has been ARRESTED -- after officials say he kidnapped the child's mother and attacked her.

The suspect is 28-year-old Joseph Robert Patterson -- who was charged with murder and child abuse for allegedly beating Peterson's son Tyrese to death in October 2013.

Patterson had been free on the murder charge on $750k bond -- and was under instructions to NOT contact the child's mother or anyone else in the family.

But Patterson apparently ignored the instructions -- and kidnapped the child's mother. Cops in Sioux Falls, South Dakota say they responded to a call early Tuesday morning.

Patterson was apprehended -- and has since been charged with kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault, interference with emergency communications and third-degree burglary.

He's due in court later today.

update_graphic_red_barThe judge set bond for Patterson at a million dollars cash. During the hearing, the Minnehaha County state's attorney said that Patterson knocked the victim unconscious and held her captive for more than an hour. He added that the victim had visible injuries on her neck.   For more sports stories, check out tmzsports.com!

Since his multiple arrests for violent crimes (including the murder of a toddler) clearly wasn't enough to convince the court that he was a danger to society, hopefully this is the nail in the coffin. He doesn't need to be walking the streets.

How is it that a person who is accused of beating a child to death is granted bail?

So now we know what it takes for a person with money to get a million dollar bail like Jeremy "Gun in the Trunk" Meeks. Kill a child and while out on bail kidnap and beat the child's mother to a pulp. Thanks for the lesson. Let's see what he does to her when he gets out this time.

Should just put him in the locker room with Adrian Peterson!!!! I just don't see how you can murder a child and be let out on bond? How would feel comfortable with themselves him out? Hope he rots in jail and gets what he deserves!!!

We had been friends for years prior to everything. He is a psycho, extreme liar, abusive and yet very charismatic. None of this surprises me in the least. He needs to be locked away or he will do this again. It sickens me to see him around town acting like nothing happened.

This POS killed a baby and he got a $750,000.00 bond. now he has kidnapped the child's mother and the Judge STILL gave him another chance at bail? Although, it is a $1,000,000.00 cash bond, he was granted the opportunity to be able to make bond. Is there no such thing as "NO BOND" or "BOND DENIED" in Sioux Falls, South Dakota? WTH?
