They say a tie is like kissing your sister -- so how do you describe Thursday's U.S. World Cup match where they lost ... but still advanced to the next round?
NBA star Dirk Nowitzki called the situation "perfect" while out in New York City after the match went down. For Dirk -- who is German, but clearly has some love for the U.S. -- it really could not have gone down any better.
If they meet up again in the knockout round, don't expect Dirk's allegiance to waffle quite as much.
