Nolan Wells Case Family Waiting on DA to Examine His Phone

An attorney for Nolan Wells' family says they're ready to examine his phone ... but they're waiting on the Jackson County DA's Office to set the date.
Liza Park -- a member of Ben Crump's team -- said Thursday the DA's office, the family's forensic team and possibly the FBI have agreed to jointly download and examine the device.
The plan, according to Park, is to examine the phone one time with everyone present ... but they're still waiting for prosecutors to provide the time and place.
"We're ready for it to happen," Park said during a press conference at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention in Atlanta.
Crump also spoke about Nolan's upcoming birthday ... noting he would have turned 19 next Wednesday ... and saying the milestone will be extremely difficult for his parents and family.
Rep. Lucy McBath -- a member of the Congressional Black Caucus -- joined the family's push for answers ... saying the caucus sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel asking whether a separate federal investigation -- including a possible civil rights probe -- is warranted.
McBath said they have seven days to respond.
Rev. Al Sharpton also appeared alongside Nolan's parents and their attorneys as they demanded accountability in the case.
