Hey Mike,
I went to Loomis with him (and apparently you) too. You're right, he was exactly the same then as he is now, but I remember him as a really nice guy with an odd sense of humor and no qualms about following it wherever it led. He reminded me of Andy Kaufman -- he would pick a story or a character and just commit entirely. At the time he was a big fan of Norm Macdonald, as I recall.
