Is Rihanna

A Flawed Covergirl?

3/14/2009 7:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0312_rihanna_covergirl_ex-1Revlon has secretly hired a huge polling company to find out if Rihanna is hurting its competitor, Covergirl.

An online survey is circulating by the folks over at Harris Interactive. The survey -- which we've learned was commissioned by Revlon -- features a Covergirl commercial for mascara. It then questions people if they are aware of the person in the commercial (without saying Rihanna's name), if they've heard about her in the news lately, if they have an opinion about the person and if they feel the person is "an appropriate spokesperson" for the product.

The obvious implication here -- are women pissed off that Rihanna got back with Chris Brown and therefore would be less likely to buy Covergirl products? That's what we're thinking.

We confirmed with Harris Interactive that the poll is a "proprietary study by Revlon" -- translation: no one was supposed to know Revlon was doing recon on its competitor.

We spoke with someone at Revlon who said she'd get back to us. We're still waiting.

OMG, I can believe this people defending Rihanna. Cover Girls MUST definately drop her. Honestly, by seen her in the commertial the FIRST and ONLY thing I can tink of is her beat up face and that she is back with her attacker. This is about bussiness and not pitty. Cover Girl should take care of her bussiness and not this dumm a$$. She was aboused and now she's ok with that. She can do with her life whatever she pleases, but NOT sell beauty products! Right now the only thing she represents is an abused woman that is back with her abuser.
P.S. Does anybody know where I can find that poll?
Thank you.

I think that Revlon is trying to bask in the sun and get all the business that Cover Girl loses over having Rihanna as a model... I am flabberghasted that Cover Girl has done nothing about the message that she is sending young impressionable girls/women. They are basically condoning the beating of women by having her in their ads... Kelloggs pulled Micheal Phelps as their spokes person for something far less than Domestic Violence!!! I personally feel that Rihanna's image as a strong woman is tarnished and she's lost a good amount of fans over her decision to take Chris Brown back after beating her, biting her and almost knocking her unconscience...

Covergirl needs to pull Rihanna. She is a bad example for young powerful women and girls who want to grow up being strong, beautiful, powerful, loving and women who love themselves. She should never have gone back with him. She has the power and the resource to contact Oprah, Tyra and all these women who want to help her but she has chosen to listen to lawyers, herself, and Chris the beater instead of at least trying to contact older and more experienced people so she should lose her money and endorsements.

wasted days and wasted nights

A legal process needs to run its course and both seem eager to sweep this under the carpet and get back to making music and money. Well, it just doesn't work that way and they are just making it worse by trying to cover it up. At this rate, she will soon be called a COVERupGIRL.

We all have to remember, before judging her, that she is the victim in all of this. She probaly feels some misguided guilt. That had she not called the police, Brown's career would still exist. He is probaly guilt tripping her, "see what you did to my career, blah, blah, blah". Maybe, there is some finacial arrangement or contract that intertwines their careers. They might have jointly own property and comingled funds.

Let's bottomline this Rhinna/Cris crap.

First off, what eberybody seems to miss in all this, is that this a case of MUTUAL COMBAT!! They BOTH were hitting the other. FURTHER, it was Rhinna, NOT Cris Brown, who initiated it! While he's driving a car, she intercepts his PRIVATE email and then commenses to slap and hit him there by endangering him, herself and everybody else on the road that night! Did he over react? Probably but I wasn't there. He did ry to get her out of the car to end the battle, but she did not go. Should he have hit her that hard? NO, but he did have a right to defend himself from HER assault and to try to insure his ability to drive safely.

Should he have just stopped the car and walked away from his quarter million dollar ride leaving in the hands of an irrational woman? In hignsight, probably.

Bottomline, regardless of what you think of Cris's action, he did NOT start the combat, she did.

What kind of idiots are you people? first you select these people as role models, WHY! last I know they did not put in an application for the job. Their jobs are peformers etc. You follow their every move waiting for something to happen then cry wolf. The stupidity you exhibit should render YOU to be fired from your job. Better yet, put your assess on a performance assessment plan and post your failures for everyone on your job to see. Then, make you comments. It is easy to sit back and judge. Remember the pen and post it notes you took from your office, even if it cost $1 that is thieft, lock your asses up and throw away the key, by the standards you have for others of course.

I definitely feel like since they both made terrible mistakes I think they should both be dropped, that includes Rihanna.Rihanna is ruining her image although she was not the one ARRESTED for domestic violence, her choice in staying back with a violent man is even worse. They should definitely drop her.

Is CoverGirl promoting their makeup as a good way to hide the bruises on your face after a beat down?

Lisa Ludemann

If Michael Phelps is dropped from Kelloggs for smoking weed as a "bad role model", then Rihanna must be dropped from Cover Girl. It's outrageous for an influential role model to not only support domestic abuse, but represent a cosmetic company in order to cover it up.

Lady DumbAss Turd will need a tonne of makeup to cover all of the bruises her life and her career are going to take.

She is washed up.. so is he. If I have to hear anymore "Y' Know wha M sayin'" bull on the Tyra Banks clips with the woman beater.. he wll need the makeup. I will kick his ass.

Does Covergirl make a Neck Cover Stick to cover the strangulation marks she got from Mister Brown?

Oh My Goodness!! I just dont't understand why Covergirl would take her off their ad. Should she be punished for forgiving someone she loves? Regardless if we believe she is wrong or right that is her personal choice.

Rihanna is fine for the spokesperson for covergirl....She can do what ever she wants in her personal life. Going back to Chris doesn't make her any less of a person! She was caught up in a bad situation. We saw the pictures, but we still don't know what REALLY happened that night. Good way to kick a person when they are down TMZ people. SMH
