Joe Francis

Record-Breaking Tax Debtor

11/18/2009 8:20 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The IRS wants some serious "Girls Gone Wild" money, because they've filed a lien against Joe Francis for a whopping $33,819,087.14 ... this according to documents obtained by TMZ.

The Federal Tax Lien doc was filed today. The IRS claims Joe owes the money for 3 years of back taxes -- 2001, 2002 and 2003. In 2001, the IRS says Joe didn't pay $17,658,358. In 2002, the delinquency is $11,238,582.14, and in 2003, he owes $4,922,147.

It was less than 2 weeks ago that Joe got out of a sticky federal tax evasion case by copping a plea and avoiding prison.

Joe told TMZ, "I have no idea what it is." He says he does not owe the money and, "This is total retaliation for me beating them in court." Joe says the law the IRS is using hasn't been used against anyone in 20 years.

Joe says yesterday, the feds seized more than $100,000,000 in cash accounts of his.

Joe says the IRS is forcing him to file for personal bankruptcy, which he will do tomorrow.

Why aren't people pissed off at the government. If half of what Joe says is true -- and who knows if it is -- the government is way abusing it's power. Why aren't people pissed off at that ... Assume Joe's a pig. Aren't people pissed and scared at what the government can do to somebody.

It is a law, Buddy! Certain penalties cannot be waived due to tax law. Joe is full of it. The IRS sends numerous notices and letters notifying taxpayers when monies are due or when changes are made to their tax account; this includes updating the taxpayer of their balance owed per tax year since interest and penalties are assessed until balances are paid in full. Also, he was notified he would be levied at least 30 days before the government actually withdrew the money. BY LAW a taxpayer has to be notified they will be levied. Another celebrity who thinks he/she is above the LAW. Perhaps he should have used his jail time to read up on tax law.

Anyone see the clip of the Stanford Band halftime show at USC? Joe Francis was the butt of their jokes. Rightly so.

Renee is 100% correct - they don't just wake up one day and come and get you. To seize assets, you have many, many months of notices AND you receive a Federal Tax Levy notice that usually comes by certified mail. So, no, Joe, this should not be a surprise to you.

Sorry Learned One - you obviously don't know what you're talking about. The statement was that individual income tax is dischargeable in bankruptcy. Of course the IRS can go after you 10yrs for taxes due and will levy your assets. These are two separate statements!

I pray that you aren't a tax attorney.

To the "bankruptcy attorney" - a slip of the keyboard certainly doesn't make one a "nimrod". So sad that would be your only retort.

I hate rappers

This is to #39 JoeWeHateU............I would guess your not quite up to the standards that would allow your body be shown on either GGW or playboy. And from your heated attitude, sounds like you are over due for a "HOT BEEF INJECTION"

Couldn't happen to a nicer, er creepier pervert.

Pay up, they should hit him with the maximum penalties.

Maybe he will be stupid like the Survivor guy and claim that CBS promised to pay up.

Alright, this is my last post of the day! Joe F. filing for personal bankruptcy will not do anything to his corporation. It will still continue to exploit drunken teens and his company will still continue to rake in billions. Bankruptcy is probably the best thing he could do.

While I have never met JF... I have met his video crews several times at the AVN (Vegas porn convention every January).

Sorry to disappoint all you haters out there but I have never met a more professional and just plain nice bunch of 20 something men and women that do the video work.

Naturally... it is my **extreme** pleasure to inform you haters that JF gets more action every single weekend than all you haters get in an entire lifetime.
