Olympic Golden Boy Won't Smack Talk Russia

2/24/2010 9:01 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Gold medalist Evan Lysacek's been trashed by a Russian figure skater for his winning routine -- but the U.S. Olympian ain't looking to talk smack back.

Evan Lysacek: Click to watch
We got the winning skater ... and his gold medal ... outside "Larry King Live" last night, where he said Evgeni Plushenko's routine was "inspired" -- and the Russian is only criticizing Evan because "he's under a lot of pressure."

Translation: I beat his ass fair and square.

Good for him. It must be tough to have a sore loser bad mouthing you, the skating event, and the Olympics as a whole because the "US bought the Olympics". I'm not a skating pro, but though good ol' Plushy did a quad, he didn't land a lot of jumps to the level he normal does, didn't have the footwork, and basically did nothing of merit after the 2 min mark. Could Plushy have won the gold? OH YEAH. Did he bring a performance in the long program worthy of it? Nope.

Stupididy at its best

Hey stupid morons I saw the competition and never ever your American great guy deserved to be olympic champion. This was a joke!!! The skating was so loose compared to the Russians.
But that's the way Americans do : they always cheat !!! They take performance enhancing drugs - Lindsay Vonn ? - or they pay the judges.
Fantastic country. But it doesn't surprise me at all because you voted for the most disturbing cheater liar of ALL TIMES.
Way to go America. You are falling down down .... Hope you will never recover from your fall.

That's class, but it's also a way to disarm a rival.

I'm no fan of mens figure skating, but this guy really is a class act. I have nothing but respect for him.

Viva la vida !-
WHATEVER. Sour loser. If you are going to come to an American website, please learn how to write English correctly you stupid, jealous moron. Your writing sounds like the typical stereotype of Russain speaking broken English. Everyone, quit being jealous of America. How funny that even in our hard times, our country is still amazing and better to live in than anywhere else in the world...especially Russia! LOL.

South Beach

Evan is class all the way, even when pushed by USA media to talk trash he didn't bite. He is 20 years old and I stand and applaude he and his parents who raised him with such excellent manners and cool beyond his years!

I saw the competition, Evan best the Russian across the board, quad or no quad. The Russian is technically excellent, but does not make the audience "feel" the performance, Evan does both.

Waa, waa waaa, you got beat Plusie, and no one outside your country (and your Premier who felt the need to weigh in) cares what you think, or how you award yourself a Platinum award on your absurd website.

Crybaby with bad hair. Thanks for playing.

The Russian was right. A champion should do the quad! The Russian's program was perfect!

If it is all about doing a quad why don't they just have a jump off and forget the whole routine thing....lol. The right skater won.

Could we please find out more about how his parents raised him? And perhaps his environment growing up? Because this young man is a true hard-working class act, and we don't see that very often. I would love the youth of today in all sports to make note of him!
