Levi Johnston has been ordered to pay nearly $18,000 in back child support ... TMZ has learned.
During a hearing in the child support case between Bristol Palin and Levi, the judge ruled Levi must pay $1,688.42 a month in support, retroactive to the child's birth -- December 27, 2008.
Bristol was in court in Alaska for the hearing -- Levi was a no-show.
Bristol's lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, tells TMZ, "Bristol is pleased with the court rulings today and looks forward to resolving the remaining issues with Levi."

Bristol Palin does work, and Sarah Palin's income is not relevant to the matter, but Levi Johnston's is, thus the fact that he has to pay approx. 17% of his gross earnings for last year towards the care of his child.
He can show up to be on "The Joy Behar Show" to falsely trash the family that treated him like a son, yet he can't show up in court when it comes to the well-being of his own son.
Funny how the people who were cheering on all those frivolous lawsuits against Sarah Palin in an attempt to bankrupt her (which were all thrown out of court) are now suddenly whining and crying "FOUL!" when it's Levi that is being sued.

Well I am so happy for Bristol Palin; I guess like mother like daughter!!!!!! I think many of american's will see that Sarah left the Governorship to make lots of dough and as any woman knows if you have a baby the guy always gets screwed that is how the courts work it. By the way I am not a guy I am a woman.

the amount ordered is the same percentage of income that is always ordered by the state in every case
which means that EVERYONE in Alaska right now is paying the same percentage of their incomes in child support cases
it has nothing to do with the Palins!
if he makes less money then the percentage will remain the same but smaller income means smaller payments naturally
and the percentage isn't that great-so he's living very well- not sacrificing or struggling at all
it is a very fair amount

Most men don't get screwed over in the court system by women actually, women have to fight sometimes for several years to get maintenance for a deadbeat dad's baby, then a court judgement doesn't mean you'll get the money especially if he quits his job!!Mainly it's the mum (unless as some very good father's have done, got custody of their kid), who raises baby, it takes two to make a baby and therefore two to pay for his upkeep!! As for some idiot asking how is that poor kid suppossed to pay - with the money he gets from every interview, talk show, picture shoot where he slams the Palin family and uses their name!!
