Corey Dillon -- DUI and Divorce Trouble

4/21/2010 10:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0421_dillon_mug_EXDetails_smallRetired NFL star Corey Dillon is having a seriously bad month -- he was busted for DUI this morning, and TMZ has learned his wife just filed for divorce.

Desiree Dillon filed a petition for divorce earlier this month in L.A. County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple has three children and have been married for 10 years.  According to court documents, Desiree wants full legal and physical custody of the kids -- with Corey getting visitation.

In the filing, Desiree is asking the former New England Patriots star to fork over cash for spousal support and attorney's fees.

As for the DUI -- Corey was pulled over by L.A. County Sheriff's deputies at 3:38am today near Malibu on Mulholland Drive.  He's still in custody.

UPDATE: Dillon was released from custody -- he's expected back in court in June.

As for why cops pulled Dillon over to begin with, officers claim they noticed a man in a red Chevy Camaro driving slowly behind them. When cops approached the car, they claim Dillon admitted to drinking earlier in the evening.

He always was a douchebag. That's why we ran him out of Cincinnati.

Corey Dillon is a DOUCHEBAG!!! He never was a star with the New Orleans Patriots, he just rode their coat tails to a Super Bowl ring. He was a tumor on the A#% of the Cincinnati Bengals. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

You would think California would be a debt free state with all the DUI's they process. All those tickets alone should be enough income to sustain the state. When will these people learn - that's how LA makes their money. I would NEVER drink and drive in Los Angeles/Hollyweird areas. Oh well - they just WON"T live and learn out there.

@Steve-O: You're an idiot. 1st, who are the New Orleans Patriots. 2nd, the guy rushed for over 1,60...0 yards in the Super Bowl Season he had with them. You obviously don't understand football, do you... New Orleans Patriots???

And yes, he's an idiot for drinking and driving. Punish him. But cut the guy a bit of slack or do you wish this form of soap boxing when you get divorced from your wife and 3 kids.

Well, first of all I'll cut you some slack on your typo, was it 160...... or 160......0? Which is more than you appear to be willing to do for me. I do know that he played with New England, and that he had a great season in 2004, I meant to say leader. I also happened to be on the field when the Pats played the Bengals in pre-season the first year Dillon was traded, and watched as he got a grand total of 26 yards I believe. Secondly, I never said he wasn't a good running back, matter of fact I was standing about 10 ft. away from him on the field when he broke Walter Peyton's rushing record, and heard him scream "F&%# yeah!" A real class act there, in front of all the kids sitting 20 feet away. I said he was a tumor on the A#$ of Cincinnati. His attitude sucked, and it was all about Corey, and not about the team. Ironic isn't it that the season after he left, the Bengals started winning. For the record, Dillon rushed for 1635 yards in 2004 (Patriot's single-season record, 733 in 2005, and 812 in 2006. Then he was cut so he could retire. SO...if you still want argue my knowledge of football, then by all means bring it on.
