Chris Brown

Blocked from UK

Over Rihanna Incident

6/8/2010 9:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Blocked From UKChris Brown
's violent past just caught up with him in the UK ... where he was just denied entry into the country.

Officials in Great Britain revealed they wouldn't let the singer cross the border because of his criminal record ... specifically the attack on Rihanna.

The move seriously screws up Brown's tour -- which had at least 3 scheduled stops in the UK.

Soon after the decision, Brown tweeted, "SORRY to all the fans in Europe!!! my tour is cancelled. Im pretty sure yall know. my entry was denied in your country. I love you. SORRY!!"

The tweet was later removed -- and his publicist later claimed the rejection was based on "issues surrounding his work visa."

Britain's Home Office also released a statement, saying, "We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offense."

People all over the US make plea deals every day without fully realizing the consequences - because our politicians justify their positions by criminalization as response to every tragic story, the supposedly free US is approaching 1/6th of the population having criminal records. Other countries take a criminal conviction seriously, and Chris Brown is an example. Perhaps this can serve as a lesson about bargaining a criminal charge.

Yes, I am very bitter that employers, thanks to affirmative action, hire black Americans less qualified than other applicants. I am very bitter that my son with a 4.0 is discarted as a prospective students, so an ethnic minority with a lower GPA can take his place in college. -And I am furious that that brilliant president of ours gives hundreds of millions to historically black colleges while cutting funding to public elementary schools. WTF? Charlie Sheen is a fart, same as Chris Brown, same as Van der Sloot, and same as Mike Vick, the dog killer who is still being worshipped in America. There!

Way to go UK the US should do similar perhaps "celebrities" would think before they act like animals and most of them lack talent anyway

We only "care" because we know what he did. There are many celebs that have and do things illegal but because we choose to overlook and we still spend our money on what it is that they are selling.
Dont get me wrong he made his bed...but how often do we spend our $ on people that we dont know and know nothing of? Should we care about every celebs character or should we just like the music, movie, fashion, ect...?

Good for the UK. At least they have the balls to stand up to this punk. Brown doing that "community work" was a bunch of P.R. bull. When is this country going to wake up, better yet, the court system in this country. PATHETIC !!!!

It doesn't matter if he "learned" his lesson or not. Many other people have committed lesser offenses and have not been able to travel to other countires because of a past mistake. Just because he is a celebrity does not mean he is above the law! Good for the UK!!!

“Maybe this is the work by the new government, stricter rules for people entering the UK! I'm sure if Labour were still in, they would have let him enter. He's dirt, so I kind of happy! Hopefully this means less immigrants coming also, I knew Conservative was the way to go. ;-)”
