Robert Shapiro can work wonders -- he was part of the team that got O.J. Simpson off -- but sources in the crazy world of Lindsay Lohan say he has not convinced her that she must surrender to a jail sentence.
People who are interacting with Lindsay tell TMZ she has been in obsessive denial over her surrender Tuesday, when she must begin serving a 90-day jail sentence -- which will be whittled down to 22 days behind bars.
Lindsay is convinced there is still a way she can avoid jail, even though Shapiro made it clear he would only rep her if she went to the pokey.
Here's the irony -- Lindsay expects Shapiro to pull a Shawn Chapman Holley ... code for getting the judge to overlook her past screwups and keep her a free woman. Holley eventually quit when Judge Marsha Revel made it clear ... there were no more cards to play.
And, we're told, the reason it took so long to find a new lawyer is because Lindsay only wanted someone who could keep her out of jail but no credible lawyer would make that promise.
And here's the thing. From what we're hearing, there is no way in hell Judge Revel is going to back down.

The very fact that LL believes she still may have an opportunity to get away with no jail time just show how jaded she has become to reality. I hope she gets help because come Tuesday, it might be LL's rock-bottom moment.
Lindsay is trash. She is obsessive about not wanting anything "negative" around her. She tweeted about her dad earlier, saying he only brings her negativity. People in her circle have said she gets mad if anyone says anything to her that she considers "negative".
Clearly this stupid piece of trash doesn't want anyone to EVER tell her anything she doesn't want to here, like "no", or "you must admit your mistake".
I hope next time she screws up, and she will, she gets 5 years in jail.
10% chance she'll make a really poorly executed suicide attempt in the next 24 hours.
30% chance she'll try and make a run for it within the next 24 hours.
50% chance she'll be late to turn herself in on Tuesday.
0% chance the judge will relent and grant Lindsay a pass.
100% chance Lindsay will wake up Wednesday morning in a jail cell.
I sincerely hope that she does avoid jail altogether, so that the disappointment of all you pathetic, self-loathing, celebrity obsessed losers may amuse me.
Also, FWIW, you have some nerve complaining about a jail sentence that you are being told beforehand will only be TWENTY-TWO fuggin DAYS out of a 90 day sentence.
That's like getting a slap on the hand and wanting to file a lawsuit because it left a temporary red mark.

IM WITH POLAR BEAR. Its not as if you are doing any REAL time. Also, when you exit you have money (trust me the chick isnt BROKE) in the terms 'normal folk' consider, and ya got a shot at meeting some really great people...compared to who you have now. Do what ya gotta do and then make a choice if you want to divorce all the trash people in your life. Trust me you get sober and you will want to run from them like gunfire.
The day TMZ actually NAMES its sources is the day I will believe anything it says.

It is my sincere hope the judge makes it clear... "I sentenced her to 90 days, she's not to get out for 90 days, & then directly to rehab". Being sentenced is NOT the time to figure out your wrongs, nor is it a bargaining point. This beeyotch needs to do her time. ALL of her time. The world can wait for her next B-Movie failure.
Don't be scared Lindsay-remember, when u get out, Nicole will be there w/ her cheerleader uniform (emblazoned w/ L L ) to cheer u onto rehab!!!
