Chris Tucker

Real Estate Disaster in Florida

7/28/2010 9:30 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

It appears the real estate bubble exploded all over Chris Tucker -- the tax-troubled star is trying to sell his Florida mansion for $2 million ... even though he paid $6 million for it just three years ago!

Chris Tucker Home Photos

According to public records, Tucker took out a $4.2 million loan to score the 8861 square foot home back in 2007 ... a home that includes 5 bedrooms, a wine cellar, pirate ship-themed home theater and a library with a SECRET ROOM! The home is located in swanky Montverde ... a suburb of Orlando.

Tucker owns multiple properties in California -- according to -- but it's unclear if he's looking to unload any of those as well.

As TMZ first reported, Tucker is dealing with some serious tax issues at the moment -- the IRS claims he owes more than $11 mil ... which makes the timing of this sale much more relevant.

Sorry Missy, you are wrong.

Montverde is NOT 20 minutes from downtown Orlando.

If you hop on the turnpike and 408 you *may* get there in 35 minutes, but to say it's a stone's throw from Orlando is a sham. And to claim one should live there as a refuge from crime in Orange County is a nuisance.

In fact, why do you think there are so many foreclosures in Clermont? Because all the transplants got sold on the "Florida dream" and didn't realize that it's not convenient to Orlando at all (not to mention the lack of industry or jobs to sustain that lifestyle). Clermont matchbox homes had never been worth much more than mid $100s, during the boom they skyrocketed, and now they're back to $100k or less.

Howey-in-the-Hills, Montverde, and of course Mount Dora are the only 'nice' areas of Lake County.

Bella Collina is beautiful but it's not a hidden paradise. Do you know anything about Lake Apopka? Do you know anything about Lake County? Why do you think the land there is not worth anything (even during the boom you could still buy five acre parcels for less than $250,000)?

Do your research, as apparently you're the one with no room to talk.

I can't believe celebrities don't manage their money better. Tucker has earned millions over the course of his career.

Yo Tiger, help a brother out and scoop up that property. It's not far from you and you could totally make some $$ in the long run, not that you need it or anything. Offer him 4 for it, dude needs help!

This wouldn't happen Chris Tucker if you would work, in other word's make movie's ever year or other year, rather then one every six year's and it's alway's Rush Hour 1234567 ect.... I guess he's having issue's with himself, it least Jackie Chan try's, even though his movie's suck (karate kid)

Montverde....swanky? Come on TMZ -- do a little fact checking. Bella Collina is full of deserted houses, empty lots and last time I drove through there, I saw one person. It is like a deserted community with maybe 20 houses. But Montverde is anything but swanky.

why is Katherine Jackson's house pictures being used as Chris Tucker's pictures... someone at TMZ made a mistake!

ya, he sucks...but what I'm wondering is why people with 'money' always choose such 'classique' taste, when it is so clearly UGLY!!!!

First of all, the I.R.S doesn't play around with their money. Someone has to pay for the bailout. Secondly, chris tucker can easily, recoup the money making more than one movie every five years.
