Cops Investigating Street Fight Involving ex-UFC Star

8/5/2010 6:25 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned the Austin Police Department has viewed the tape of the bloody street brawl involving ex-UFC star Roger Huerta ... and have opened an investigation into the incident.

We're told cops are interested in interviewing everybody who was present during the Saturday morning brawl -- including Huerta and the man he knocked out.

Law enforcement sources tell us so far cops have not identified the man Huerta knocked out -- or the woman who THAT guy attacked ... but officials are working on it.

As we previously reported, Huerta claims he only launched his attack AFTER the other guy threw a punch at him ... and all of that came after the unknown man socked a woman in the back of the head.

Roger Huerta - Street FightUPDATE: Roger will not be punished by the fighting league he is currently contracted with -- Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney  tells TMZ, "Roger is in no danger at all of being removed from Bellator based on this situation."

Roger is the fing man! Back you up 100% roger. Good job. Most of us do not have the courage to do what you did.

Chase, you're right. The first time I watched it last week, it looked like the guy doing the stomping was shirtless, but in this video, he is wearing a gray shirt. Even though Roger has since admitted "I got the better of him", there's actually no evidence on the video that Huerta did anything.

#184....rashad is in austin now and he has been going to try-outs for other organizations after he was cut from atlanta. He was employee at an organization i run and i can say he has been in town very much so and has told us he was going to still be working for us in the fall since he has yet to be put on a team. I never though he would be capable of this but since the identity of the man has yet to come out who knows could just look like him but i know he was in town and has since then not been an option for us this fall

reports here in austin where it happened is that they "guy" who hit the girls and was then put out by roger was ex ut player rashad bobino and having worked with him in the past it looks like him on the tape for sure. I dont know where this came from as in his actions because i always thought of him as a good guy and he was always fun at work to around but seeing this made me lose a lot of respect for him. Now its not for certain it was him but around here in austin people pretty sure it was.

All these guys making comments about how you should not slap a woman are probably guys who know they would do it too; you can't give me that ****, I know better.

I don't think anyone should be attacked, and anyone cheering on ANY of this is an idiot, that's simple. They both lost.

Also, who gives a **** exactly where this went down, it's all the same ****..drunken losers with nothing better to do! ;)

Much respect to Huerta for showing a 250 lb bitch what happens when they cross a 170 pound man.

Everybody supportive of the Bobino the bitch, is a bitch for life too.

"Former starting Univ. of Texas Linebacker Rashad Bobino, who last played for the Longhorns in 2008, was the individual who punched the unidentified woman from behind as seen in the TMZ.com video."

WTG Roger... any man who attacks a woman is a coward.. Kudos to the leauge and others for seeing that.. and to the comment he was standing around waiting for a fight.. that is YOUR opinion.. Roger is by far a real man, he didn't stand around like some and let this woman get assaulted.. he laid that F***er out KO style.. maybe that and jail sentence will teach him you don't put your fists hands whatever on a woman... bottom line...
