Steven Slater -- The Media Storm Hits Home

8/11/2010 4:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

JetBlue's most famous flight attendant Steven Slater returned to his home in Queens this morning -- and was greeted by a paparazzi storm usually reserved for Brangelina or Britney Spears.

Steven Slater Video

Dude told the media swarm he was "glad to be here" -- and then quickly made his way inside.

Slater is currently on leave from his job with JetBlue -- so far, no word if he plans on returning.

To much coverage on this, but wonder why the passenger was never arrested? She broke federal law as well. I am a former FA and she was a danger to herself as well as other passengers and should have been arrested. For anyone who thinks it is a easy task of even becoming a FA, willing to bet most can not pass the training or test.

Addressing comment #7 - You are one self absorbed person who needs to get a life!!!!!! While Steven Slater may not be a hero, he has made a serious point and drawn attention to one of the many issues faced by flight attendants everyday. First, flight attendants are not glorified waiters and waitresses. They are trained professional who come to work everyday to save your ASS and not Kiss it!!! If you call making 45K a year to serve drinks, pick up trash, have people poke, pull and shove you, deal with nasty passengers like you and the people you talk to on every flight glorified... then why don't you apply for the position? Second, passengers get on these aircraft and act like just because they bought a seat, that they own the whole damn plane! They go into the galley to stretch, steal personal papers and magazines from flight attendant jumpseats, change baby diapers, go into the carts and help themselves to whatever. It is a business, not a free for all! Third, since you seem to think so negatively about flight attendants, take a bus next time you need to travel because your business is not wanted!!!

Who cares about his marital status? He's a badass. Can you imagine how many times we have all wanted to just "do it", but held back. We all know that eventually, it's gotta catch up. I say, good for him!!!!! The passenger was a jagazz. Arogent piece o ****e. Good luck to him. The passenger should be held accountable for his violent attack, and I WISH there was footage of what Steven said, and seeing him get a couple of beers and slide down that shute. Come on! That was priceless!!!!!!

I don't approve the comments he made, he could have just walk away and apologize or explain later, obviously Jet Blue has to send him for anger management .....we could not predict how a person reacts especially if they are very upset, injured and upset....IF HE DID NOT LEAVE THAT PLANE AND HE WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL HIS ANGER, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER.....

gay or straight doesnt matter to me. although the pasenger should consider their lucky he was gay. They tend to be a little more passive. He should have thrown the bitch off the shoot first and whats up with 2 beers.?/grab an arm full and drink and throw cans at the bitch on the way down the shoot!!!Just because we work some where for a pay check doesnt mean we have to let people run over us and our pride. You people who fly and dont like the flight attendents, I think you should drive or walk you rich f- ass every where and learn what it means to have to have to put up with **** from pricks like you. Dude heres to you for having nuts gay or not. Ill drink a case just laughing at the snooty people. hire him back as a PR man and give him a rasise for being a real man

Steven, job well done. I am sure you are sick of these nasty, dirty, poorly dressed pax's, who usually pay nothing for their tickets, attitudes!! Once and for all you stood up for what many of us could never do. No, we are not filthy waiters and waitresses, although most of the pax's do look like they eat frequently in diners, we have to get you safely where you are going. Raise the price of tickets once and for all and let us get back to when traveler's had some sophistication, not like the motley people who fly today. Steven you have now opened the door for so many who thought this could only be a fantasy. Bravo.

Whether Steve Slater is a hero or not should not be the only concern or question!!!
I would just like to know as a Flight Attendant -- What happened to the passenger that assaulted him with her lugguage? There has been no dicussions or her metioned on any news station... Why does she get to walk away after violating a Federal Regulation set forth by the FAA? This is about cause & effect... Amazing!!!

I think TMZ keeps covering because Harvey loves the movie "Airplane" and Steve's Hissy Fit would have made an excellent scene that movie. Tmz's nonstop coverage on this is getting tiring.

2:02 PM on Aug 11, 2010 by Suzanne. Airline attendents are entitled to respect and adherence to safety procedures by passengers. Slater did not deserve to have his head gashed by a passenger or to be sworn at. The passenger should have been charged with assault and arrested. Jetblue is remiss in not supporting their employee and his safety on the plane.

Possibly 7 years in jail? He should have just punched the woman in the face and got charged with simple assault.
