JetBlue: Shame on Steven, No Matter What

8/12/2010 8:20 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The passenger who allegedly beaned JetBlue flight attendant Steven Slater may have been a malicious, arrogant bitch, but Steven was still in the wrong ... this according to an internal airline memo obtained by TMZ.

JetBlue Steve Slater
As TMZ first reported, Slater is telling people the passenger "maliciously" struck him in the head by yanking on the overhead bin, cutting his head.

But, according to the JetBlue email, " ... if Mr. Slater’s story proves to be accurate, and even if there was a precipitating event that motivated his behavior, that still doesn’t excuse his actions."

The memo goes on, "There is no excuse for endangering Crewmembers and Customers in response to a challenging service situation. Intentionally arming and deploying an evacuation slide for anything other than the express purpose of protecting the safety of our Crew and Customers is unacceptable."

The memo adds, "Slides can be as dangerous as a gun ... It is an insult to all aviation professionals to have this particular element of the story treated without the seriousness it deserves."

I work ground crew at that airport - not that day. He had no idea if one of us was where the slide would come down and he could have easily killed someone. They were securing the plane when it happened. Scared the hell out of a lot of people working on the ground. He reacted to there remarks by giving them the finger. His 15 minutes of fame are over time to pay the piper.

He knew what he was doing, and he seems to be fine with it. The public should just get over it and move on to something more important. He's just a guy who got sick of dealing with people's stupid crap every single day. Yeah, he may have rolled his eyes first, but suffice to say, I be he took a HUGE amount of crap before that. And if Jet Blue or anyone else says the passenges were in danger, they are flat out lying. I'm so tired of this whole, he's unprofessional, well, people being rude are indifferent and inhumane, no one should have deal with spoiled, self entitled *******s all the time. People should KNOW better and learn some manners. Just basic please and thank yous, each day and it would make a difference.

According to Passengers on the flight and the police investigating.

Passengers are saying that Steven Slater appeared to be drunk when he boarded the plane, also had the gash on his forehead when he boarded the plane and instigated the fight/argument with the passenger.

None of the passengers questeioned by police are supporting Stevens side of the story.

WABC Story http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local&id=760...6197

"Passengers on the flight continue to say it was Slater who was rude, from the beginning of the flight right up to his curse filled rant on the plane's intercom, and his dramatic exit down the emergency slide he deployed. "

Can Steven plead temporary insanity? I hope so. He was finally pushed to the brink after years of exemplary service. It is not a surprise, I know what it is like to be in public service. Over the years I have seen the public go from pleasant to rude, and there are so many people that feel they have the right to treat another as a lesser being just because they are on the job. I always treat others the way I want to be treated, regardless of how I am treated, but there have been many times I wanted to blow up just like Steven. The women who disobeyed the rules on the airplane (over sized luggage & not waiting for the plane to stop before standing up) have been allowed to remain anonymous, which gives them the impression that they did nothing wrong. If not for them, Steven would most likely still be on the job. Shame on them for acting like privileged spoiled brats, as if the rules are for everyone except them. I hope someone exposes their identities so they are at minimum apologize for their behavior and at maximum get fined for their behavior. And I hope I never get on a plane with them, but unfortunately I know people like them are many, as I have flown with that type often.

Ah no, "Jesse"....what it says is that this JERK could not control his emotions.
It's not like he's the FIRST airline employee to be abused by a passenger....he's just the FIRST one to do something as moronic as he did.
MOST airline employees act lie PROFESSINALS !

This FREAK is just trying to get a "reality" T.V. show, that low I.Q. fools like you would end up watching !

(BTW: I'm in my 20's.....you don't have to be an "old goat" to know right from wrong and conduct yourself accordingly..there are MANY airline employees in their 20's who don't act like fools and endanger people lives...just like there are people in their 20's who run INTO burning buildings to save a total stranger's life !....Sound like YOU have some growing up to do!)

the slide is as dangerous as a gun!? wtf....its a safety slide....guess i missed something. Also love that the slide company itself thanked Slater for showing the slide's work just as they are suppose to. JetBlue needs to back off he didn't injure anyone, the plane had landed, slater is a hero.

On behalf of all flight attendants..... We still think you're our HERO!!!!! Steven did what all flight attendants have wished they could have as some point in time.

I don't think ALL filght attendants would agree with you. Some might, but not all. Which airline do you work with, so i know not to fly with that airline if you are supporting this idiot!

Sharon is probably a classic example of the passenger that caused the incident. She also probably thinks it's ok to bash someone on head just cause their in customer service. Where do you work at Sharon so I can know what kind of company supports your type of barbaric thinking?

Unfortunately you are completely in denial of information that is finally coming out about what really happened on that day, BY THE PASSENGERS THAT WERE ACTUALLY ON THE PLANE, what part of, he had that injury before the fight took place are you not understanding? As for working in customer service, i did that part-time years ago before i landed my current career and i know how rude some people can be. But in our training, yes you have to train to be a C/S, it states clearly that we are in no way to respond harshly to a customer. We are to calmly try to resolve whatever the issue is in a polite and friendly manner and if it cannot be resolved, we then transfer it to a supervisor. I am in agreement like i stated before in another thread that the passenger should be charged with assault if the passenger did cause the injury. But as we ALL know, it was a pre-existing injury !

"Cyantris".....I "THINK" there "MIGHT" be a "COUPLE" of those little "pesky" FEDERAL LAWS that little boy Stevie broke when he deployed an EMERGENCY EXIT SLIDE, just for GIGGLES !
We're talking FEDERAL LAWS here...."kinda" serious !

(I'm guessing that it COMPLETELY freaked out the employees on the ground....do you have ANY idea how MASSIVE those slides are...it's not like the slide at your neighborhood playground!)
Not to mention the COST to JetBLue !
I hope they SUE his silly A*s to the high heavens to recoup their costs and teach this spoiled Prick a GOOD lesson !

WHY do people like YOU NOT take responsibility for BAD and ILLEGAL Behavior and breaking laws ?
I've always wondering WHO are the people that watch all those silly reality shows...NOW I know.
The I.Q. level of Americans continues to decline at a RAPID pace!

Why is the belligerent passenger not being called out on this. No pics, no name, nothing. Any other time when someone acts out on a plane they are ceremoniously escorted off the plane in cuffs and given the walk of shame. Why is she being protected. They have to know who it was from the seat assignment.

That's what I want to know.

Apparently , all is not what it seems to be.
This women HAS been questioned already and NO wrong doing on her part has been found.

MANY of the other passengers on that flight are saying it was the Stewardess Steve who just acting like a Prick (and MAYBE a little drunk when he got on aboard)

This is going to end up being a publicity stunt !

Think.......

"Balloon Boy "...but MUCH more dangerous to innocent people !

I do agree that this passenger need to come forward since she is the missing piece of this puzzle, because so far, all the other passengers, WHO WERE ACTUALLY ON THE PLANE, are saying the opposite of what this idiot said happened.
