Meg Whitman: My Maid's Full of It

9/29/2010 3:40 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Meg Whitman's campaign just gave us documents suggesting that her former maid, Nicky Diaz Santillan, actually lied to Meg about her immigration status when she was hired back in 2000.

Whitman maid.

The documents, which Whitman claims Nicky filled out and signed back in 2000 during her application for employment, appear to show that the maid stated under the penalty of perjury that she was a "lawful permanent resident" of the United States.

Whitman also claims Nicky provided her with a social security card and valid California Driver's License with her employment application ... which Meg kept and has now handed over to TMZ.

Whitman has also issued a statement on the matter, saying ... "After 9 years of faithful service, Nicky came to us in June 2009 and confessed that she was an illegal worker."  Whitman continues, "Nicky has falsified the hiring documents and personal information she provided to the employment agency that brought her to us in 2000."

And, Whitman continues, "I believe Nicky is being manipulated by Gloria Allred for political and financial purposes during the last few weeks of a hotly contested election."

Whitman concludes, "This is a shameful example of the politics of personal destruction practiced by people like Jerry Brown and Gloria Allred.  The charges are without merit."

Gloria --once respected-- now is a roadmap for the greedy, devious, and s***....

in this instance, Meg was dupped -- like many of us have been, could be....

and from a distance, doubt Meg (nor family) would keep this cleaning lady if not doing her job .. just like (given past experience -- esp. one involving HR & settled) that M.W. would abuse someone ----------- and no way she would abuse soemone who had access to her home, replete with personal details .. maybe even private do***ents.

I am reluctantly voting for Meg, despite disliking her outdated & ridiculous far-right views on social issues (WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CALIF. REPUBLICAN -- like R.Reagan?!!) but because CA is broken - and needs a non-Dem to try to fix...

in other words, CA sorely NEEDS a fixer - and this is no time for crazy, nasty political tactics!!!! especially when we have no calibrated Gloria - and know she cares little about CA, or about anyone besides clients who can win themselves (and thus HER) huge $$$ per skanky means..

Lisa- you are obviously an idiot who doesn't understand employment law.

It is against the law for employers to DEMAND employee's show them green cards. As a matter of fact Obama's DOJ is suing the University of AZ for asking for them as proof of legal residency for their employees.

Why does Meg need a maid in the first place.
Why doesn't Meg do what we all do, clean and
market by ourselves.

The rich exploit and take advantage of poor illegals all of the time. It's nice to see them turn the tables on the bastards once in a while and get some payback. :)

The names don't match??? Her first name is Nicandra, there's no debate there. Her last name is listed as Diaz on the app and on the SS card, her license is listed as Diaz De Santillan and her husbands last name is Santillan...People "should" change their information if they get married, and they shouldn't talk or text on their cell phones while driving...Yeah that happens...

Ms. Whitman: what about reports that the Social Security Administration informed you several times, in writing, that your maid's social security number was bogus?

You mean she was paying over $23-$25/hour and couldn't hire an American citizen? I know plenty of people who would work for that! Was this a full-time position? Who paid or reported income for income taxes on the false SSN? All sounds like a pack of lies to me from all sides! On another note, didn't big businesses, banks and irresponsibly and greed get us into this economic mess we're all supposedly in - why would you want any of them running the government? That has enough problems already!

The PC BS of referring to illegals as "Undo***ented Workers" is the verbiage equivalent to referring to rapists as "Non-consensual fornicators"

Gloria Allred, With all due respect I have this to say to you:

YOU GO GIRL. YOU GO WHERE ALL OTHERS FEAR TO TREAD. IN YOUR OWN WAY YOU ARE WHAT "ATLAS SHRUGGED" WAS ABOUT IN CHARACTERIZING CHARACTER.

The timing on all of this is pretty suspicious. Whitman's camp must have known it was coming down the pike. The do***ents are those belonging to the agency thru which Whitman acquired the housekeeper - they would technically be the employer and be responsible for taxes, worker's comp, etc. They charge Whitman, say $25 per hour and pay the maid only $23. But, Whitman could have hired her away from the employment service, then she would be the direct employer. It will all come out in the wash, as they say! Still not good news for Whitman though. HAHAHAHA!!!

# 8 - I did personnel (human resources) work for a city agency and I never copied the back of the SS card. I've never seen anyone copy the back of mine. All anyone copies is the front.

She was hired through an agency. She was not an employee of Ms. Whitmans, but of the agency. It's the agency's responsibility to verify citizenship.

So DL expired in 2005, after 9-11, most states required that people present social security cards at DMV and the states checked it all out. Did Whitman check to see if her DL and insurance was kept up to date especially if she was driving her kids to school? It should have been caught by DMV/SS in 2005 and the letters would have started coming then from SSA, imho. Whitman had to know when she made her speech about "undo***ented" (illegal) workers in her speech. (double talk I suppose)

Thank you 106 (Hart2Hart). And good point, Juan (109). She probably didn't get paid 23.00 hour if she came thru an agency...
