Chuck Lorre: Rob Lowe's An Interesting Replacement!

3/8/2011 2:30 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

"Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre has had meetings about producing "Two and a Half Men" without Charlie Sheen, and Chuck's people have been talking to Rob Lowe, TMZ has learned.

Rob Lowe Replace Charlie Sheen

Sources connected with Lorre tell us ... the mega-producer has been holding internal meetings about keeping the show going.  Various options have been discussed, and they have a short list of replacements for Charlie's character.

Our sources say ... Lorre's people as well as honchos from Warner Bros. have been in touch with Rob's agent at William Morris-Endeavor, talking about Rob possibly coming onboard.

There are two stumbling blocks for Rob -- he currently stars in "Parks and Recreation," and he grew up with the Sheen family.

No decisions have been made yet, but it looks like there's a real interest in keeping "Men" alive.

UPDATE: Ashton Kutcher.

No!!! Kill the show!! This is career suicide for Chuck Lorre as Charlie Sheen was the show and no one can replace him. No one will watch the show anymore without Sheen and they better just kill it. This show is doomed without Sheen.

Lowe = perfect! also James Bader, Christian Slater; and possibly even John Travolta ( travolta could definately carry it off and would bring in the viewers)

The show will crash and burn without Charlie.

Wouldn't Rob Lowe be guilty of "moral turpitude" as well? Don't sign the contract Rob!!! Videos ring a bell anyone?

NO ONE can replace Charlie Sheen I think the best thing they can do is sit down and get this worked out. This Show has been one of the funniest shows and it would be a shame to try and replace Sheen. Getting tired of the idiots at the studios. they have no high moral ground, Trying to sell to the public that they do. do all the fans a favor and put this thing back together. what a waste

People will be watching anyways because everyone wants to see how the "new guy" is doing. I bet you the ratings will be the highest ever on the first episode without CS.

Now that Charlie's gone, i will NEVER watch Two and a Half Men ever again!! I know he's pretty screwed up right now and everything, but there will never be anyone good enough to fill his shoes. They thought by firing Charlie they'd be coming out on top, but sorry, but that show should be "cancelled"!! Don't kick a dead horse!!

lol... at least I could actually see women being attracted to Rob Lowes character vs the old man charlie turned himself into.
I love this idea!

two cents

Rob Lowe? How about Scott Bakula or Dylan Walsh? They would be great, too.

Have Rose "kidnap" Charlie and live happily ever after, "winning" on some deserted island. LOL

That show has great writers, and they don't need Charlie anymore.

For all those who say they wouldn't watch the show without Charlie Sheen....I have NEVER WATCHED "Two and a Half Men." Not a single episode. But I WOULD TUNE IN to see whoever they replace him with.

I HATE Charlie Sheen. Always have.

Charlie Sheen can't be replaced. Just do one last show .. the 'back to the house after the funeral' show ... to close the stories up. The show can't go without Charlie and he's obviously in no mental condition to be able to work ... perhaps ever again.

Just kill the show.
