Charlie Harper

Dies Tragic Death

6/27/2011 1:17 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"Two and a Half Men" will turn dark for just a minute or two when it premieres in September ... because Alan and Jake will learn Charlie Harper bit the dust.

Sources connected with the show tell TMZ ... Chuck Lorre's plan is to make sure Charlie Sheen can NEVER come back on the show.  Although the first show won't be filmed until August 5, producers have been kicking around scenarios, which include Charlie driving a car over a cliff.

Of course, it would be art imitating life, because two of Charlie Sheen's cars went down a cliff on Mulholland Drive.

As for how Ashton Kutcher enters the picture, there's been talk that he buys Charlie's house after Charlie kicks the bucket.

Sources tell us ... the first script still isn't locked and Lorre often makes changes until close to taping, but it's pretty clear -- Charlie Harper is pushin' up daisies.

Charlie Sheen has pulled so much insane cr@p Chuck has to make sure there is no loophole Sheen can exploit to get media attention from the show. If Charlie H moved away then Sheen would make repeated headlines stating he was in negotiations to come back: remember his claims he was in negotiations with a different network to return to the show? If he’s dead, it kind of closes that debate.

As for death having no place in a comedy: Full House, 8 Simple Rules, etc. All had a death which the sitcom revolved around or hinge on a death and they were successful shows. As long as the jokes are centred on Charlie's death, there's nothing wrong with it. Makes sense: kill off Charlie, his brother gets the house but the taxes are too high for him to pay without help, so he either rents out part of the house or sells part of the house to Ashton's character.

Obviously a closed casket funeral cause Charlie would charge 100 million just to lay in a casket and who could blame him :)

Here's my opinion. You write Charlie sheen in a rehab center in the show, the shrink he has finally advised him to get him. So a few episodes or so, maybe half of the season he remains out of the show. He then can come back if he cleans his act up enough to appear on the show again, because face it, the show is nothing without him. Ashton can play a fill in as part of the family or something, until Charlie comes back. Charlie will remain pretty wild and crazy but that's what makes the show.

Bull crap, prove it with a link to the story because it didn't happen. TMZ got scooped by Radar Online as usual.

Here is how I would do it...Charlie drives off a cliff, later a hot woman see the accident in a newspaper and she thinks its time to tell her son (Ashton) the truth about who was his dad. Aston then goes to the funeral where he meets allan and his kid and as the closest living kin Ashton would get the house but since he wants to connect with his new family he suggest they should all live together and Allen cant refuse free rent he says sure and the story goes on and on with endless jokes at chalies expense ans his new long lost son ask questions about what kind of man was charlie.

NEVER come back? Seriously have you people never watched a soap opera? He faked his death to get away. Or a mermaid saved his life by pulling him to a deserted island (most of the cliffs are near the ocean). The possibilities are endless.

I have to agree with Puckett I have seen nothing. I guess that's why TMZ has fallen to number 3......

I don't want to harp too much on the small details, but Alan and Jake would have been out of the house before it was being shown to prospective buyere. Furthermore, if Ashton is buying the house for a rental property, we all know Alan is too poor to pay in that loctaion, so he'd still be out of there. It seems like Lorre wants us to believe that a man buys a house to live in and lets two strangers freeload there. Not buy it, Lorre!!!

I have thought Kutcher would enter as the new love interest of the boys mother..... and some how end up in charlie's house.

Talk about biting off your nose to spite your face....Chuck Lorre is a douche and not very savvy about syndication or a possible rating(and not to mention money making)bonanza if Charlie Sheen ever were to return!!!!!

Somehow there is a poetic irony to Charlie Sheen being "killed" from a show that he tried to destroy while taking a decidedly self destructive path against the show that was making him famous and rich in spite of his antics. And had he not been famous and rich he wouldn't have commanded our attention for more than the allotted fifteen minutes of fame.
