Ugh if this were true, you'd think Guy would throw some scratch his way to get at least some indoor plumbing.

I just don't see the trauma of Guy taking his nephew out for what's probably a wonderful, fun trip. It sounds like the kid has had it rough and could probably use it. It sounds like both of them could use it for that matter. Too bad if all this scuffling is going on. I hope they have a complete blast on the trip!

The family should rally around the surviving parent instead of trying to take this child away from his father. I hope for the sake of the child that once the father have regain custody of his son that he would allow the grandparents and uncle to remain in his son's life.

This child is truly love by all.

Of course the judge is going to side with the father...Dain and Morgan were still together when she died. You can't just take away a kid from his father because his mother died...Now if the dad is unstable and not mentally fit to raise the kid that's a different story. As far as living in a motor home and having no income...that's more than a lot of parents/families in the state of CA have since the economy took a crap...and in no way does it mean that he is not fit to raise his own child...

No good deed in society today goes unpunished. You're almost a fool nowadays when you reach out and help anyone in this life. Of course we in this country were MOSTLY raised otherwise, but times change.

Selfishness in current times is almost becoming necessary as too many people take advantage of the good hearted among us all, and eventually people like me just say "fluck it and you".

Socio-economic factors do not play into deciding custody. Its actually kind of appalling that the grandparents would want to play that card knowing this kid has already lost one parent.

I also think its too coincidental that this "trip" with no phone service was planned when exchange of custody was supposed to take place. Surely they all knew this prior to gallivanting off to some remote lake house. I smell contempt charges brewing...

He and the family are s***. The boy belongs with the father and just because the father is not a millionaire is no reason for these rich self serving people to have an advantage just because they can afford good lawyers.

uhm, TMZ, HOW IS GUY EMBROILED IN THIS DISPUTE? There are some areas in this country that have poor cell phone reception, hard to believe, but true. And add mountains, and I would think some areas cellphone contact is near impossible. Now, You, yourself, posted on this WEBSITE that Dain Pape said he wanted to 'AVOID CONTFRONTATION' so he did not go up to the lake and was waiting for them to come back. So, where is the fire, war??? And your 'other' statement-that Guy 'tried to do the right thing for his nephew after his sister passed away'. I DON'T GET THAT EITHER. Isn't that something a loving Uncle would do? Listen, You, I, We, don't know what the relationship was between Pape, his 'ex'? and her family and where he was at the time of her death and how much of a father he was to Jules. But, he is Jules father. I see he did some technical work in Hollywood, very little, but some. But, being unemployed is not a reason to keep him from his son, nor is the fact that he lives in a trailer. In that case, HOW MANY WOMEN WOULD LOSE CUSTODY OF THEIR CHILDREN BECAUSE THEY WERE ON WELFARE? Taking Sec. 8 housing? Food stamps? But oh NO! A child is supposed to be with their mother! And that Moronic statement of 'Oh, he just wants his kid's SSI check'! Yes, absolutely! Take on an 11 year old kid, settle in ONE PLACE! make sure he goes to school, has clothes, does homework, and all the responsibility that goes with it, ALL FOR ABOUT THE $1000 A MONTH that Social Secuity is going to grace him with! And maybe FOOD STAMPS ON TOP OF IT!!!! YES, ALL THAT FOR THE RESPONSIBILITY OF RAISING A KID! (that you know the grandparents are going to watch like a Hawk and report you to children's protective services it you do anything wrong.) These SUCKY GRANDPARENTS should work with their former (?) son in law (?) and see that their grandson has a healthy happy good life and try to raise the child jointly. But, maybe bridges have been burned too much by one or both. And Guy, he does not have to, but it would be nice if he helped this man, whether he was his sister's former husband, BF, whatever. I don't know what he did, if anything to Morgan, but it is Jules everyone has to worry about, CARE ABOUT. Even if Guy HATES HIM, DAIN HAS WORKED IN HOLLYWOOD, See if he can work in some show, TO SUPPORT HIS SON! To support GUY's nephew!!!!!

I live in Cali and there are plenty of jobs to be had,so if this guy is living in his "motorhome" which he could sell if he really needed the money then it is because he wants to. The kid is old enough to ask who he wants to live with. Kids at 11 know if their dad is a nut or not.Marin is liberal mecca so they see the dad as a victim and victims always win!!

And if Guy HATES HIM SOOOO MUCH that he won't offer him a job, having at least 2 SHOWS, on 2 DIFFERENT NETWORKS........and if he HATES THEM THAT MUCH-maybe he can get him a job on TLC's My BIG FAT GYPSY WEDDING-THE AMERICAN VERSION-He has the Trailer. It would be a job for someone Guy hates.

This is the father's child - he should get custody unless there is a serious reason he should not (like unsafe living conditions or abuse) - the judge did the right thing. The boy belongs with his father. The fact that he is poor should have nothing to do with it. In fact, the father is being remarkably restrained. If it were me, I would have gone out to that island and taken the boy home.
