Estella Warren

Escapes Jail In Crazy DUI Case

8/19/2011 3:10 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"Planet of the Apes" actress Estella Warren just got the DEAL OF THE CENTURY -- she won't have to serve ANY jail time for allegedly driving drunk, crashing into 3 cars, attacking a cop and then escaping from police ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story ... Warren had the night from hell back in May -- capped off when she slipped out of a pair of handcuffs at an LAPD station and tried to make a run for it.  She was recaptured ... and eventually charged with DUI, hit-and-run driving, battery on a cop and resisting arrest.

But today, Warren struck a deal with prosecutors, in which she agreed to plead to DUI ... and the remaining three charges against her were dropped.

Warren was sentenced to 60 months of summary probation and has been ordered to attend an alcohol program for 18 months. She will also have to fork over $1,908 in costs and penalties.

5:06 PM: Warren tells TMZ, "I take my actions and their consequences very seriously. I can't express enough how grateful I am that no one was injured or hurt. Moving forward I am focusing all my efforts on my carrer, my family and being a good influence to others"

What is it with you american's and your psychotic desire to lock everyone up in prison. What a waste of money when your government budgets are in a state of collapse. What benefit to society does it serve to lock her away, and millions of other non-violent offenders in prison? Is everyone who posts here at TMZ related to a member of the prison guards union and benefiting from your obscene prions-industrial complex?

Besides she is both pretty and Canadian which are two categories of people who deserve special treatment.

Former NBA star Jalen Rose was released from a Detroit jail this morning -- after spending 16 days behind bars stemming from a DUI arrest back in March.

Rose did not slam into 3 cars, break out of jail nor assault an officer. Oh yeah he was committing a much worse offense. A DWB Driving while Black. He got jailtime immediately, a fine, court costs, and he still on paper. Good grief these white plastic blow up dolls can beat up police, escape jail and even kill. It must be nice.

This kind of stuff happens all the time....Even for non celebs with money. I have a friend that got into a bad accident under the influence and even got busted by the scene and still got off it. She said some black person did it to her. I hate the system. Never even had to go to court even though the other car had kids and hurt. NO JUSTICE.

What a sweet deal. Who was her lawyer? and i noticed that Judge Revel wasn't her Judge.

Her lawyer was Darren Kavinoky. He is pretty well known.
Yeah she got the max probation time but she only pleaded guilty to one charge, her probation is informal and she avoids jail. Great deal.

TMZ, what the hell is a "carrer"? Why am I not surprised you people can't even spell "career"?

A beautiful face, along with a good attorney, certainly has it's advantages. And there's always Canada if she violates probation. It's all good.

Injustice! She got robbed. She should have used LaShawn to get her out of this. When Linds gets a DUI or murders someone, LaShawn either claims no witnesses or plays the race card. Why go to alcohol school when you don't have to? Injustice!
