Former wrestling star Jeff Hardy has checked into a North Carolina jail to serve his 10-day sentence stemming from a drug arrest back in 2009 ... TMZ has learned.
Hardy was arrested on Sept. 11, 2009 after cops say they found all sorts of drugs in his home -- including opium and cocaine.
Hardy struck a deal with prosecutors ... in which he agreed to plead guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of conspiracy to traffic in exchange for a 10 day jail sentence, 30 months of probation and a $100k fine.
34-year-old Hardy -- who took a brand new mug shot upon arrival to the jail -- was listed at 6'1" and 215 lbs.
Sources close to the wrestler tell us ... this weekend, Jeff was adamant that he wanted to get his jail stint over with ... so he decided to check in first thing Monday morning.

he used to be so hot, now he is just another junkie on the street. Why do that to yourself?
Good, now go get help. WWE will pay for your rehab Jeff, so go.
What? I don't believe it! He doesn't look like a criminal or anything.
This so sad. He's admired by so many youngsters who love the WWE. I hope he can set the example of getting the help he needs so people who are suffering from addictions can follow Jeff's lead and see the light at the end of the tunnel. God be with you Jeff!!!!
Well, this is crazy, but I'm glad a deal was reached, and I really hope Jeff Hardy can finally learn his lesson,? enough is enough!
Anyone else would have received at least six months.
It's funny how so called stars always get the best deals, if it was a normal every day guy they would have put him under the jail for a few years & years ago.
How could life possibly go sideways once you have a neck tattoo?
Dang what happened to Jeff, he looks like he was run over by HHH, the Rock and the Undertaker all at once!
How about a rehab instead of jail, i thought prison was for people that are threats to society i dont believe he is a threat. How is the wrestling community helping these men who fall to drugs, seems like a common problem. Get well and good luck Jeff
uuh....you see the thing, TMZ they always bring up old stuff when everyone knew about this in two years old, How much longer will TMZ dig up old stories. TMZ please shoot yourselfs....thank you.
