Tim Tebow

God Is Saving the Broncos

... Says Colorado Pastor

12/12/2011 10:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Tim Tebow and Pastor Wayne Hanson
Broncos QB Tim Tebow is winning games because of God, pure and simple ... this according to a pastor at a Colorado church with ties to the Tebow family.

Pastor Wayne Hanson -- who runs Summit Church in Castle Rock, CO where Tim's dad often speaks -- tells TMZ God is actively intervening in Denver Broncos football games ... and aiding Tim on the field because of his strong faith.

Hanson tells us, "It's not luck. Luck isn't winning 6 games in a row. It's favor. God's favor."

Pastor Hanson adds, "God has blessed his hard work."

We asked Hanson if Tebow would be winning games if he wasn't such a strong believer -- and the pastor replied, "No, of course not."

So far, it's the only plausible explanation for this insane Broncos winning streak.

marybridget, Tebow is playing the wrong game with the right player--the Lord--if what you say is true. Doesn't matter, though. The Lord will straighten him out. He's in the wrong business to play games with God; and I don't mean football.

If Tebow is praising God because of wins, then he must also praise God for losing. Every life and life-event is under God's Eye. Tebow just happens to know this, and his current publicity rage is a function of FALSE interpretations about God. The O/T includes Job, who underwent every horrible kind of suffering---but remained steadfast as a beloved of God. THIS is why Tebow is getting noticed; NOT BECAUSE OF FOOTBALL. Football is merely the instrument by which God can make His Power known to man. It is not because of winning or losing. It is about the Power of Praising God for His Plan, regardless of the consequences. God is bigger than man can comprehend. Tebow's Faith is just an example of the Power of giving all Praise and Credit to the Lord. love, mb.

marybridget, I can find one thing that might be wrong with what Tim is doing: The Lord warned about "...casting one's pearls before the swine". And that's not meant to be offensive to you. But what it does mean is that we should not continue to try to show the precious and sacred things of God to "unbelievers" or the "Godless". They'll just respond to it in the ways that many are responding on this site. (Matthew 7:6)

The pope is Catholic. Please do not put all of "christian type" faith in one basket. Catholicism is different to many types of christian faiths.

I am Spartacus, the Broncos can beat the Patriots. That's reasoning from these games they won that they were flat losing. The game plan will not be the same for the Patriots as for the other teams they've play; that you can count on. This you can count on too: Tim Tebow will do the same thing he has always done--Patriots or not.

Emjay: What's meant by what you're saying about the Catholic faith? Is it better? Is it right or wrong? Much of Catholic "liturgy" is aberrant. I believe that is why the priests have struggled with what they've struggled with. In short, the Catholic church teaches things the Bible doesn't. And I believe this is why it's priests have struggled with the things they have. When you don't teach what God says, you are not of God; so then you are of the World. You don't have God's supernatural understanding. You're on your own with your humanity.

Paddy, what you've said is not news. God hates it when anyone is killed. Why is there such a premium placed on children? Yet, children are killed all the time in abortion clinics, and nobody hardly says anything--EXCEPT the Church.

Tori McCord, either you is or you ain't according to the score. That's all that really matters at the end of the day. Each of those players had a job out there. The game goes as well as each person can do their job. It's really no different than any other job, except the people in the workplace keep changing.

I hate to burst your bubbles... but the god of the Bible DOES NOT EXIST. Nobody knows wtf is going on. Accept it and move on!

KingJason13, daddies who are truly doing their job's set the stage for belief in the God you say doesn't exist; sometimes moms do this, too. But it is best cemented in a child's heart by the father. Are you a father? Love and care for your family will truly make you a man. But you must first be fathered--like Tim Tebow. He's going to be a great quarterback.

KingJason13, if you haven't had a dad; lease pardon me if he has died. Try to understand the role of a man. There are things that are known, man. Try to to find out as many of them as possible.

KingJason13, being a good father will teach you what is really going on. And if you are doing what you should be doing, you will know plenty. Now, go find your manhood. It truly is other than behind your zipper.

If God is intervening in football, yet not in the lives of the sick and the disabled, there is really no point in believing in it at all. Christians are a very confused bunch...
