Tim Tebow

God Is Saving the Broncos

... Says Colorado Pastor

12/12/2011 10:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Tim Tebow and Pastor Wayne Hanson
Broncos QB Tim Tebow is winning games because of God, pure and simple ... this according to a pastor at a Colorado church with ties to the Tebow family.

Pastor Wayne Hanson -- who runs Summit Church in Castle Rock, CO where Tim's dad often speaks -- tells TMZ God is actively intervening in Denver Broncos football games ... and aiding Tim on the field because of his strong faith.

Hanson tells us, "It's not luck. Luck isn't winning 6 games in a row. It's favor. God's favor."

Pastor Hanson adds, "God has blessed his hard work."

We asked Hanson if Tebow would be winning games if he wasn't such a strong believer -- and the pastor replied, "No, of course not."

So far, it's the only plausible explanation for this insane Broncos winning streak.

Anthony C Okafor, one thing for sure: God isn't helping you. You probably speak better of the "cheese" between your toes than you have spoken about God. Until you get a better perspective, your life will probably remain the way it is--bad.

Mythyx, that's why God has sent missionaries to Africa--to help people. Despite your comment, God is helping people; possibly not you, though.

How thoughtful to put God in football-shaped box. This pastor is so spiritually immature. It's not for the winning, DUH!!!! It's for God's greater perfect plan. If Tebow wasn't as strong a believer, he may still be on the field but he wouldn't have as big an impact as he does for sure.

suthrnboy, again, for all you unbelievers, why do you believe charities exist that help the people you talk about. As usual, you don't know what you're talking about; just sounds good to you to be saying something that sounds like you care. Our great nation and many other nations like ours have done plenty. Your complaint is prefaced on your cynicism. You know you're wrong, or you should know. The United States and its great people have led this. Your real problem is hidden in your hate for great people like the Tebows, who if you take the time to read about them, you will discover you are wrong. It's called "cognitive dissonance".

Jo, this pastor is actually trying to make an appeal to unbelievers, who the only thing they might do on Sunday is watch football. And what he's getting, for the most part, is what he is expected to get--the "ire" of many who only do one thing on Sunday: watch football.

common sense, leave the "class warfare" alone. You jealous of Tim Tebow's money? God blesses his people. You feeding on the president's effort to make those who don't have envious of those who do. Proverbs 10:22; "The blessing of the LORD, it makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it".

Didn't Tebow himself declare that his god does not care about the outcome of the games he is in?

common sense, ironically, there's no "common sense" in anything you say. Most people do attribute their good fortune in life to some higher being; Christians believe this is attributed to God. That's all. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing--grade school math; common sense or did somebody teach you that? Did you even learn that?

TomWoolf--P.R. (Public Relations). I worked in Sports TV Production with guys like Tebow. He's trying to take a little pressure off the Church, because of "unbelievers". Unbelievers will doubt God's providence, even if the Broncos went all the way to the Super Bowl and won; they'd still say: God had nothing to do with it. I lost my home to foreclosure, but got a mound of money out of it; this was even after "scamers" tried to commit fraud and take the money. God smashed them and the city wrote me a check for a lot of money. Man, get God on your side and you'll even feel better about your trouble.

Correction aquanet: God doesn't worry about anything; He's God and He knows about everything. It's only those of us who don't know about everything who worry.

The subject "God is Saving the Broncos" might be a bit of a misnomer. Might be more accurate to say,"... God Might Be Saving Some of the Broncos through Tim Tebow's Faith". I bet you "...a fat man and a funky monkey" that some WILL come to faith in God, on that team, through Tim Tebow's influence and his faith in God.

common sense, I last said what I said to say: If you don't have God, you don't have anything. You just end-up like some "dog mess" on the curb. At least that's what you seem to think. Wouldn't want that to be me.

Whether we like it or not athletes are role models to alot of children. Unfortunately, in the past and the present we've had drugging, drinking, murder, animal abuse, etc, etc, involving athletes. Parents of children present or in the future I would hope you would welcome an athlete that chooses to show millions of people(thru football) his love for his Lord and Savior.

Tebow has stated that he kneels to praise his Lord and Savior. I do wish wish that some of you would read about Tim and his mother and father, how they travel as missionarys to poor countrys to help the sick and poor as well as in this country.
