Tim Tebow

God Is Saving the Broncos

... Says Colorado Pastor

12/12/2011 10:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Tim Tebow and Pastor Wayne Hanson
Broncos QB Tim Tebow is winning games because of God, pure and simple ... this according to a pastor at a Colorado church with ties to the Tebow family.

Pastor Wayne Hanson -- who runs Summit Church in Castle Rock, CO where Tim's dad often speaks -- tells TMZ God is actively intervening in Denver Broncos football games ... and aiding Tim on the field because of his strong faith.

Hanson tells us, "It's not luck. Luck isn't winning 6 games in a row. It's favor. God's favor."

Pastor Hanson adds, "God has blessed his hard work."

We asked Hanson if Tebow would be winning games if he wasn't such a strong believer -- and the pastor replied, "No, of course not."

So far, it's the only plausible explanation for this insane Broncos winning streak.

Apparently this is pretty much made up. The Denver Post today uncovers the truth, straight from the Pastor's mouth: http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_19546896
Shame on TMZ, but I guess that's pretty much impossible.

He has God's favor is truly correct. Read my article on Tebow--A man of Valor. http://allsupministries.wordpress.com/2011/12/14/tim-tebow-a-man-of-valor/

TMZ you should be ashamed. I just read the article in the Denver Post and the pastor says he never made the statements that you quoted him as saying in your article about Tim Tebow and the Bronco's. What other articles in this Tmz site are false and lies? You have lost your credibility with me. Obviously, all you do is make up stuff to sensationalize your site. The Pastor and Tebow should sue you. Lawyer or not Harvey you know better. Now I will never trust anything I read here again.

It's not that God is specifically helping Tim Tebow, It is that Tebow believes. The Bible is filled with ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Tebow is an average person performing above average abilities. Aaron Rogers is an average person doing the same. If these football games weren't televised they would be average human beings. Now if my life were televised, I'd be a kardashian. Praise the Lord for working small miracles! lol

This is what's being missed, I believe. Romans 8:28: "...And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose". So, it's all good. Even this TOPIC, I know, is working for good. This has stirred some interesting discussion, even if TMZ "libeled" the Pastor. It is all working together for good. Just make sure you are someone who loves God and of them who are the called according to His purpose.

Famijoly, what should be said here is, "It's not Over, yet". Not a Bronco, but a God fan.

Also let's not forget, the "Minister of Defense", the Late Great Hall of Fame Star, Reginald Howard White-- also a Great Christian Football Player.

Famijoly, issue there is, is Aaron Rogers or other players standing up for their faith on the football field? That's what this story is all about-- a professional football player standing up for his faith, on his job.

ManiacalZebra, speaking "secularly", I believe the bears would have played a better game with former Denver quarterback, Jay Cutler.

Agree this topic is worthy of discussion but TMZ didn't have to misquote the pastor to have one. It's really very simple a man who happens to be a football player chooses to praise his Lord and Savior in front of millions of people(thru football)and has the courage to do so. There are no rules or regulations in the NFL that say he cannot. God Bless America.

This is kinda silly. I mean what would they fine or penalize him for? taunting the other players, excessive celebrating, unsportsman like conduct, etc, etc,?

char, understand that TMZ is doing exactly what they exist to to: Create controversy and spark interest. They're in perfect form. It's just that most people don't know how the media works. Why do you think they present the other stories about people in their program or on their website? To spark controversy and to get a response. This is how their business operates.
