NY Giants Linebacker

Investigated for Child Abuse

12/17/2011 4:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Michael Boley New York GiantsNY Giants linebacker Michael Boley -- who signed a $25 million contract in 2009 -- is being investigated for allegedly abusing his 5-year-old son earlier this year ... TMZ has learned.

According to the official incident report, taken by the Gadsden Police Department in Alabama -- Boley is accused of the repeated willful abuse of a child under 18 from May 30 to June 5.

Officials will not release details surrounding the nature of the alleged abuse.

A rep for the Gadsden PD tells us the case was investigated and has been handed over to the District Attorney's Office, which will present the case to a grand jury. The grand jury will then decide if there is enough evidence to formally charge Boley with a crime.

Boley's attorney, Randall M. Kessler, tells TMZ ... "These allegations were brought to our attention along with outrageous monetary demands in a contested child support case which she filed over a year ago."

Kessler added, "At final trial about a month ago, she did not seek an order restricting visitation.  The only relief she requested from the judge was that child support be more than quintupled to, in her words, 'increase her lifestyle.'"

In light of the allegations, another woman who has a 2-year-old child with Boley, has filed court papers in Georgia asking a judge to require the NFL star to be supervised when spending time with their child.

The judge has not yet ruled on her request.

If this turns out to be true, he sucks as a man, period. You can have all the glory you want on the football field but if you are less than a man then you are less than a man, period.

Making claims of abuse as leverage in alimony negotiations is, unfortunately, all too common. These allegations should be looked at skeptically until ALL the 'evidence' is in. The grand jury will decide whether there is any basis to these claims.

Oh for the days when Black men were looked up to who got married, raised a family, took care of their own family and their parents...seems so long ago now. Guess the new "Being Black" brought with it some shameful, apparently culturally accepted, practices. Its far far too common now for Black men to have multiple children by multiple women.
Sorry commentary...argue it if you choose, blame others, even chastise others, but this ones on that Culture. It wasnt always this way. Family was once important to that Culture---now its all self. This guy should be added to the multitudes before him, succesful ones, not succesful ones that continue with the mantra. Me first, family will take care of itself. Now play the blame game instead of correcting it. You all know the truth. Black families are broken apart like never before. Oprah couldnt explain it either. Color is playing a role here. Asians, Hispanics, even Whites, family still matters most. Black Men? Not enough of them stepping forward to correct it, live it, or dare call it out. Why you all afraid to tell each other, to knock it off? Now send the Blame others comments, and still it stays the same.

Obviously, his ex is not getting the financial windfalls she thinks she should be getting out of the divorce and using the child abuse wild card to get her way. What a douche.

This doesn't pass the smell test: Baby mama wants money and the DA doesn't have enough evidence to charge him, otherwise it wouldn't be going to a grand jury. It's all about those Benjamins.

Doesn't ring true. However, what most people don't realize see the Women who report inter-family crimes, generally lose custody.
Why this story doesn't ring true is she didn't ask his time be lessened and monitored. The worst part of the story...so few commenting on the kid.

These Accusations Are False, Michael Boley Is A Great Father. These Women Just Feel They Should Be Paid An Odd Amount Of Dollars Just For Having A Baby With A Millionaire. I Hope And Pray Michael Beats Both Cases An Then Turns Around An Fight For Full Custody Of His Children From Those Money Hungry "Gold Diggers". They Need To Get A JOB A Life, An Stop Trying To Destroy His.

Wow, it's amazing what lengths some women will go too for money, I mean you know he is not only a great father but he pays the max in child support, life insurance, additional clothes & toys, his children don't want for anything and he spends time with them while having a busy career, he has a strong family foundation. She should be ashamed of herself for lying and misleading the public for a bigger check. Makes me wonder if she even works at all, or maybe it's the new cars she buys every year. "Gold Digger" Also he should be able to spank his children without allegations of child abuse.
