'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood

I Need Prison to

SAVE MY LIFE!

EXCLUSIVE

"Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood thinks prison is the only way to save her life from a brutal drug addiction, TMZ has learned.

Sources tell us, immediately following the reality TV star's incarceration, her last drug test came back positive for the opiate-based drug Suboxone ... a highly addictive drug similar to Morphine.

Law enforcement sources tell us, Portwood admitted she can't control herself around the drug -- even buying it off the street during her court-ordered drug program.

We're told Amber believes prison is the only way to get clean because it will force her to kick the addiction cold turkey.

Portwood is currently locked up and a judge will decide her sentence in the next couple of weeks.

Wait a min. Subuxone is used to GET OFF OPIATES. You can only get that drug from a certain doc. Not all docs are allowed to prescribe it. So how did she get started on this crap? She is SUCH a loser. WHY would u do that and throw away everything for a lousy pill. HOW sad that she thinks PRISON is the only way. Did she forget she has a kid?

Who cares about a teen whore with weight problems? She's not the hot trainwreck that is Lindsay Lohan, she just a poor, trailer-trash pig.

I told you enabling, ignorant, no-nothings that for many who are addicted to drugs--dispite dysfunctionals courts that reserve prisons and jail sentencing to PUNISH minorities and poor for their addiciton, only to send the signal that there are no consequences, prison [consequences] can serve as a safe place to address their addictions [quality [if present] addiction programmes]---free from the distractions that contributed to the problem. I BLAME MTV/VH1. They exploit these people even encourage them to act out - then DROP THEM. But Karma is a bitch and a curse will fall on everyone of those bastards who are responsible. ("Why are all these bad things happening to me, I'm a good person" Because you ruined people's lives---DUMB ASS, that's why.)

You idiots, Suboxone is a prescribed treatment for opiate addiction. You can't get high off of it, and it binds to the opiate receptors blocking any drugs you take.

Having suboxone in her system shows that she is trying to kick her addiction. Its also a part of most opiate rehab treatment and is miles better than methadone.

Yeah, not an accurate story. Suboxone is indeed a MANDATORY part of treatment at many drug rehabs. You do not get high of this stuff. People are desperate for it because if they have it, they don't have to detox cold turkey off heroin or oxy.

That makes no since...You can't get high off Suboxone. It is made to keep you from getting. When your on it, you can take a handful of pills and feel nothing. Its got Narcan in it which reverses ANY and ALL feeling of being high. So there is no way she could be gettting high off of it. Maybe it was Subutex, but absolutly not Suboxone. I know I and a recovering addict and was on Suboxone for over a year. Believe me I tried every which way to take it to get high and there simply is no way to do it. It blocks everything for effecting you.

No, stupid. You needed that rehab program to get you sober. What an idiot. Turns down rehab because "it's too hard", but thinks prison would be a better way to get clean. There are drugs in prison, you f_cking retard! I can guarantee that 1 year in an in-patient rehab would have been more beneficial to her than 5 years in prison. Go ahead, lock her dumb ass up. She doesn't need to be out here ruining her daughter's life anymore if she's too selfish to get clean without being sent to prison.

oh - this is one of the worst mistakes she could have made, i don't know there but out here it is almost easier to get drugs on the inside and the guards do crap - i give her a month and she will be begging to get out and back into regular rehab

You guys are such instigators. Suboxone is not the same as morphine. You lie. This shows that she is recovering from her addiction not an addict. I don't like amber more than the next guy but this is not a good story.

It dose not matter, if she does NOT want to quit drugs she won't, and prison is not going to help her
