Michael Jackson Death House

Made an Offer!

5/31/2012 3:07 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The house where Michael Jackson died -- a house that the owner has been trying to sell for 3 years -- finally has attracted a buyer, but it's not a done deal ... yet.

Real estate sources tell TMZ ... an L.A. businessman has written an offer for around $17 million for the Holmby Hills estate.   Here's the problem -- it's listed for $23.9 million, so the buyer and seller are in the process of negotiating to see if they can find a middle ground.

Our sources say the businessman who made the offer "couldn't care less" that Michael Jackson lived and died there.  He just likes the house.

The owner has had problems selling the house in the past, partly because it has been overrun by tourists eager to sneak a peek.

Mauricio Umansky has the listing on the house.  He's married to "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kyle Richards.  Mauricio is having a good week. One of his listings just closed today and it broke a record for prices on Sunset Blvd. -- $35 million.

That oughta keep Kyle happy.

Three years and not a bite, now they want to negotiate a better price. If I were the owners I'd just sell and take the loss.

If the deal falls through due to another buyer coming in and making a higher offer the current buyer would have grounds to sue. The real estate company is not allowed to reveal offer prices while negotiations are underway. Also, of course this guy is going to say he doesn't care MJ died there. Saying that was a big deal to him gives the Jacksons a leg up in the negotiations.

its a beautiful house. So the new owners have a blessing or purification ritual to ward off all the "creepy". Why, if every home that had something weird take place in it were demolished or left to rot, the whole world would look like a ruin. The house is a house. People make it a home.

The current owners ought to be grateful someone is buying it what with all the superstition and PRICE. But its a beautiful house and shouldn't be blamed for the antics of one tenant. It has more history to hold one day with a new family or owner. As is the history of most houses over time.

#1 Rule in Real Estate: The first offer is generally the best offer. Take it!

The only reason that MJ got off ( no pun intended) from the child molestation charge is that he paid that family off and had them sign a confidentiality note/clause...and those of you that believe other wise, thinks that John Edwards is innocent...HOLA !!! to all the Christians, gays and look mahvelous....
