The Drake/Chris Brown Fight Is Not Our Fault!

W.i.P. nightclub feels it's absurd that Tony Parker is suing them over the Chris Brown/Drake fight ... saying there is no way they could have predicted what went down ... sources directly connected to the club tell TMZ.

Parker filed a $20 million lawsuit against the club on Thursday, claiming the club should have known "there was bad blood between Drake and Brown" and only fueled matters by selling them and their posse alcohol.

But sources close to the club tell TMZ that Drake and Chris Brown are not prone to such violence, with one source saying, "Chris Brown and Drake are not Biggie and Tupac."

We're told the club feels the fight was out of their control and they did everything they could to stop it as quickly as possible.

Our sources say the club finds Tony's allegation they were understaffed to be ridiculous ... saying they had around 15 security guards working that night and the owners personally choose who goes in the club and who doesn't.

So far, no charges have been filed related to the brawl, but the case is still under investigation by the NYPD.

Wouldn't it make more sense and be more fair and profitable to sue the rappers ? After all they behaved badly. No wonder they all get involved in violence and criminality because they get away with it over and over again.

Now, the NYSLA is going to scrutinize Bottle Service. A preventative measure is for clubs to put their VIP liquor bottles in table top lock box service sets. This will prevent patrons from having access to the bottles which can become weapons. Not much you can do about beer bottles though. Here's a place that makes them:

It doesn't matter what or who the fight was about but rather whether the club served drinks, which apparently they did since sever mentioned that the fighters were "visibly intoxicated"
"GENERAL RULE: Pursuant to New York State’s Dram Shop Act, a restaurant, bar or other commercial establishment may be held liable for the acts of their intoxicated patrons who drink and later cause injury to another.

In order to sustain a cause of action under the Dram Shop Act, a Plaintiff must show: (1) that he was injured by an intoxicated person; (2) the defendant sold to or otherwise procured liquor for the intoxicated person; and (3) the defendant thereby caused or contributed to such intoxication."
The nightclub really has no defense in this case since those 3 conditions were present.
