'About Time'

JoePa Statue Came Down

7/22/2012 1:40 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0722_max_kellerman_videoSports radio host Max Kellerman thinks Penn State did the right thing in taking down the statue of Joe Paterno -- in fact, he thinks they need to go further.

We caught up with Max at LAX today where he said it was "about time" the statue of JoePa came down. Max said he believes Paterno's actions in the Jerry Sandusky child abuse action outweigh all the good that he's done ... and that Penn State shouldn't stop with just the statue.

Max told us, "The fact that they still want to name the library after him? Come on, man."

Max is an excellent boxing analyst.
He is part of the reason I still follow the sport.
As usual, I agree with him.

well, this guy just illustrated how clueless he is. the university does not "still want to name the library after him." the library has been the paterno library since he DONATED the money to build it years ago. maybe get your facts straight before you go running your mouth bro

Thank you the voice of reason. The thought of this little man having a library named after him is puke provoking.

I agree. Joe Paterno carried enough clout that he could've bypassed the in-house security and stopped that waste of air years ago.

Stupid losers just blaming everyone and anything. Paterno didn't committ any crime, there's a difference. What next? Might as well shut down the entire school because the memories are still going to be there no matter what. Removing the statue doesn't make any difference in the situation at all

The one thing I still don't understand in this case is why the guy who saw the kid being raped is getting a pass. He should suffer the same outrage the others are facing. Waiting until the next day did nothing for the kid who was being raped.

Agree! Are those idiots bipolar? So, what he did was bad enough to take away the statue, but not so bad that a library can't be named after him?

Penn State administration: Grow a set and show the world you know the difference between right and wrong. OK, now I hope they keep them out of games for the next foreseeable forever. Screw 'em

I agree--get his damn name off the library. It doesn't matter what they donated, etc.---he put football and image above children being raped. The school will never really move forward if they don't get his name off the library.

Put some hair on the statue and give it to Fred Willard.
