'Expendables 2'

Stuntman's Family Sues

Over Deadly Explosion

The family of a stuntman who was killed during an explosion on the set of "The Expendables 2" is suing producers ... claiming they failed to take proper safety precautions during a stunt-gone-wrong in Bulgaria.

According to the lawsuit, Kun Liu was shooting an action scene that took place on a rubber boat near the Ognyanovo Reservoir on October 27, 2011. The scene involved the use of high powered explosives and other "ultra-hazardous activities."

But something went horribly wrong ... and according to the suit, 26-year-old Liu was killed during the filming of the scene.

Liu's parents blame the production company, Millennium Films, and the stunt coordinator, Chad Stahelski ... and now they're suing both parties for wrongful death.

Liu's family believes they should be compensated for funeral expenses ... and for the loss of their son's "society, love, comfort, attention, services and support."

Liu's family is demanding more than $25k.

I'm sure a disclaimer was signed, and that the studio doesn't want to set a standard of ignoring them. But, the loss of box office from bad PR could reach millions, not this change they could dig out of their couch cushions.

They must not be from America. Americans would sue for 25 million not 25 thousand!

Finally someone suing for an understandable amount of money. The defendants should just pay this family for the loss of their loved one. I don't know the laws & regulations where it happened but being injured or even killed is monetarily compensated. In an age where all you see anymore is frivalous lawsuits for exorbitant dollars. This family lost a loved one and really are not seeking much compensation. In my opinion; if these defendants don't pay up and fight this family in court for such a trivial amount, boycott everything they are involved in. Don't pay to see their movie if they don't do what is morally correct.

Stunt men sign a waiver that says that they KNOW what they are doing is dangerous and that it can lead to bodily harm. I am truly sorry for their loss, but it was an accident. Wrongful death is death caused by intentional actions.

Sad to lose someone, but im sure the line of work their son was in would have had to sign some kind of paper work its not a desk job. Also odd that they have waited this long to sue. This happened back in October. Could it be as Mr.Stallone recently lost a family member they hope the hearts of the producers they are about to sue will be more kind to their plight. I'm sure the family will try anyways and. I'm sure a lawyer also told them now's the time to strike, looking for an opportunity. Oh and TMZ is 25 Mill they are looking for not 25 K.

$25K... Not enough. That only covers lost income for a year or less. Who's going to help with family expenses for older parents?

Well, he was a stuntman. Taking risks are part of his job. However, they are only asking for 25k to cover his funeral & what not so why not be decent & give it to them?
