Les Moonves

NBC's Doing a 'Great Job'

Covering the Olympics

Not everyone hates NBC's controversial coverage of the 2012 Olympics ... in fact, the network just got HIGH PRAISE from its rival ... CBS President Les Moonves.

Les and his wife -- "Big Brother" host Julie Chen -- were on a double date at Madeo in Hollywood with mega-movie producer Brian Grazer and his GF Keli Lee ... an ABC casting executive.

But as the 4some left the restaurant ... Les made it clear, he's a big fan of the way NBC is handling the Summer Games ... despite criticism from fans who are upset the network isn't airing some of the competitions live.

"I like it all ... I think NBC is doing a great job," Moonves said.

We also asked the gang who paid for dinner ... and we got an answer! Check out the clip to see who the big spender was last night.

5 minutes of coverage, 10 minutes of commercials. No tennis coverage but water polo has been on as much as volleyball. NBC sucks!

I've been following the Olympics since 1964 and I can say NBC is the all time worst broadcaster for the games. The USA needs to see Kelly Rippa and Jeopardy instead of live events.

But what is the absolute worst is they broadcast the day's activities not only 12 hours late but when the nightly news comes on and they tell you who won (as long as they were americans) and remind you afterwards to tune in for their biased coverage.

If you want to see excellent coverage, check out canadian broadcasts. And if you can understand french, their coverage is excellent because for them it's all about the performance of the athletes; whether he/she is from Ecuador or Greece and yes even the USA.

Julie Chen is reported to be a bitch on wheels, and she was the homewrecking point of Moonves' last marriage, but somehow I find her persona very likeable. I guess that's because I don't have to deal with her, but I like her.

As with everything, NBC (Nothing But Crap) the Olympic coverage blows. Ryan Seacrest...really?? However, the US Gymnastic and Swimming teams rock. Congratulations to the athletes.

HATE it. They can show the good events live then re-broadcast them for those who missed them like CBS and ABC used to do..
.

.
And doing this crap is only guaranteeing higher ratings for foreign sites and networks with the people who find ways to bypass national lockouts to watch streams.

Their announcers are so horribly annoying. They need to talk much much less, and let us just watch the games and the scores. We can figure it out all by ourselves!!!
