Barack Obama

RIPPED By Bayonet Co.

We're Still Relevant!!!

10/23/2012 7:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

President Barack Obama has offended the bayonet community ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ spoke with multiple people in the bayonet industry who tell us they were shocked and even offended when Obama brought up the weapon during last night's debate.

FYI -- Obama was going after Romney when he said, "You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916. Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets, because the nature of our military's changed."

According to the official U.S. Marine Corps website, every Marine is STILL required to complete a bayonet training program ... because "the weapon becomes just as effective [as a rifle] in close combat situations."

We spoke with Dan Riker from Bayonet Inc. -- a leading military surplus outlet that specializes in bayonets -- who tells us he believes Obama's comment was "ignorant ... because our soldiers still use bayonets."

He adds, “[Bayonets] are still distributed to the military all the time -- he should get educated on it”

For the record, Riker says he won't be voting for Obama ... "and I didn't vote for him last election either."

News Flash

No offense, Obama doesn't support the military so he doesn't know what the military has. His wife can do push ups tho.

Except Obama said "LESS bayonet" not NO bayonets. Perhaps Mr. Riker should do HIS research first.

Tool of the day award winner for sure.

When Mitt Romney's Military goes to war every soldier will be armed with a bionet from 1776 and a horse to go to battle all Generals will go to the front and lead the bergade just like in 1776.

Half of you probably didn't even watch the debate. He NEVER said the military doesn't use them. HE SAID "we have fewer" which is obviously true. Now lets talk about how Romney still thinks Syria is Irans "route to sea"

Nobody's REALLY outraged. The right just has to find things to pretend to be man about when they get their asses handed to them like they did last night. Obama didn't say they didn't used bayonet's at all anymore.. just that there were fewer in use then there were in times past. Anybody that can't understand that is a moron anyways so who cares.

This country was founded by warmongers, and it will continue to be run by warmongers until the day we die. Unfortunately. That being said, most of our troops still carry a bayonet or some other kind of knife, but they are rarely used in hand to hand combat. Obama said nothing wrong, yet this is what the subject of the debate is?

OK Ringworm. Shut your piehole before I take that bayonette and stick it up your pimply a whole. VOTE DEMO AND LETS TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK FROM THE CORPOATIONS THAT WANT TO KEEP EVERYONE IN POVERTY AND RUIN OUR ENVIROMENT.

What a dumbass. Obama didn't say we don't use any, but that we use fewer. Which is accurate.

Mumra the Ever Living

In 1969, at Fort Dix, I had training on how to use a bayonet. We used two types of weapons. The M1 Garand, the weapon issued to troops in WWII which had a full wooden stock, and the "new fangled" M4, which was not in full use for Army troops as of that time which had one of those new fangled stocks that had a true pistol grip - the kind of stock that every solder and marine now uses.
When we were taught how to set our legs and thrust using the M1, we were able to extend our hands to the farthest and lean forward because of the wooden stock. Because of this, we were able to stand back a good five or six feet and get some real energy into our thrusts.
When we used the M4 with the pistol grips, we could not get our arms extended - if we tried to extend our pistol grip (right) arm the weapon would fly out of our left arm - we had to shorten our thrust and could not get more than three or four feet from the large sand bag that we used as the "enemy".
The drill sgt in charge of bayonet drills told us if we were issued the M4 not to get into any kind of close combat altercation with the VC - he said that since they were using either SKS's or bolt action rifles, they would never be using a pistol grip and would have a two foot advantage over us. Those two extra feet meant we would be dead.
The pistol grip has made the use of bayonets suicidal except for the virtually non-existent cases where there are no weapons except for hand weapons. A medieval foot solder trained in and carrying an 8 foot iron tipped pike would giver any any modern solder carrying a four foot pistol grip M16 a run for his money - assuming that solder isn't swathed in kevlar armor.
BTW, I ended up being shipped East instead of West and served my time in West Germany looking at a twenty foot concrete wall. Only fired my M1 twice at a firing range, and never once fixed bayonet to rifle.
Just in case you want to know, The Marines still issue bayonets, but the Army stopped Issueing them a few years ago - the only solders who are issued them are issued two weapons, an M16 for fighting and an M1 with bayonet for ceremonial purposes.

Nothing new here - Obama is a pro at offending Americans but is quick to lick the boots of Muslims. I can't wait for November. I have nerve disliked a President more than Obambi, a total fraud and disgrace to our country.

Wait, what? an executive in the weapons industry isn't voting democratic? say it ain't so. I'm sure that one comment completely changed his mind.

Just to be clear, Mr. Riker. Obama said that "we also have fewer horses and bayonets", not that we don't use them at all any more. Maybe you should check YOUR facts.
