Orel Hershiser

Rocks '88 World Series Ring

... to Dinner!!

EXCLUSIVE

It's been almost 25 years since Orel Hershiser fireballed the L.A. Dodgers past the Oakland A's in the 1988 World Series ... and this week, he reminded everyone of his former greatness by rocking his championship ring to dinner in Bev Hills.

Orel -- who's now part of ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" team -- was out at Madeo with friends this weekend ... when we noticed a large, shiny, blue object on his pitching hand.

Turns out, Orel still believes in showing off the goods in public ... 'cause the bling turned out to be his '88 ring ... and Orel was quick to flash it to the cameras.

On one hand, it's pretty badass ... on the other hand, it's a little Springsteen "Glory Days."

Reliving the past? Why not! The guy pitched in the big leagues for 17 years, won 204 games, ERA was 3.24 and he had over 2,000 strike outs! ...played in All-Star games and yes, won a World Championship!!! ...ya, I'd wear the ring too!

Would people say how awesome it is if Michael Jordan were to go out wearing all 6 of his championship rings every night or would they say how douche it is?

Wow, could TMZ get any lamer? First they badger John Madden with stupid questions while Al Michaels is being so polite and getting them away from the camera man. Now they are going after Oral for wearing a ring. We all realize you are gay that work there so how about not attempting to tackle sports... stick to your cats, kardashian and lohan stories...you guys are so ****in lame.

Why is this even a question? Sports leagues give expensive diamond rings to championship teams. How is it even possible that it's douchey for a champ to wear his ring for the rest of their life? To me it would be stupid not to wear it considering the cost of the thing.

The guy earns a World Series ring, and you ask if it's awesome or douchey?? Leave the guy alone- he achieved ultimate success with hard work and talent- unlike your girl Kim Karcrapshian whose azz you suck on a regular basis, TMZ.

I doubt if he wears it every day. So he wore his championship ring to dinner. Big deal. The guy was a great player, and he deserves to have the right to wear that ringnifnhe wants.

You people can be such a***holes at times its frightening. Oh, so now you're the arbiters of how this man, with all his accomplishments, should choose to remember them? WTF have ya'll done in your measly lives to compare? And go read the lyrics to "Glory Days," it's about people who never really accomplished anything, yet longed for what they had. You're talking about yourselves, at a bar in 2020, rockin' a TMZ t-shirt and talking about how you called a great baseball player "douchey." YOUR "Glory Days" will come. And I hope the people that comment on your sad falls are as mean spirited as you all seem to be.
