The ghost of Dick Clark is on double secret probation ... because TMZ has learned the legend earmarked $1 MILLION of his fortune for his college frat ... and that's a lot of beer.

According to legal docs filed by the Clark Estate trustees, Dick gave the loot to the Delta Kappa Epsilon Foundation in New York, which handles finances for the frat's chapters around the country.

Dick passed away last April ... and various money issues are still being hashed out.

FYI, Clark was a DKE bro while he attended Syracuse University from 1947-1951.

I recognize the fact that it was Dick Clark's money and he could leave whatever amount of money to whomever he chose. However, personally, I find leaving a million dollars to a college fraternity VULGAR. Undergrad students can expect to pay nearly $55,60...0.00 per YEAR. This is the type of school that you should consider only if you and your parents can afford to pay a significant amount out-of-pocket. Furthermore, the total amount of undergrads who actually belong to a fraternity is a tiny 19%. Of this 19% of students, I would guess only a tiny fraction belongs to the fraternity he left the $ to. Chances are if a student is at Syracuse, there is decent $ in the family; although, there are students who are there on grants or loans. A million dollars could have done so much for so many who are truly in need. I know someone who desperately needs a shelter to go to from a husband who beats her senseless all the time. She has NOWHERE to go. There used to be a program for battered women with a safe house they could stay at until they find a safer permanent place. It's gone because of budget cuts. A million dollars certainly could have gone a long, long, way and helped many, many women and children & babies. Dick Clark was admired for his youthful appearance but it is just too bad he didn't leave money to a deserving group. Sorry, frat bro's; I don't see where you deserve it.

Dick Clark left one million dollars, to his old college in upstate New York. But when Jackie Wilson was struck down at The Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, New Jersey years ago. This during a Dick Clark tour, Dick Clark and his company, stopped all medical treatment for Jackie while he became hospialized. Jackie Wilson's estate, has been hit by the IRS for back taxes, as well his past owed bills that were not paid by Mr. Clar's production companies Dick Clark Entertainment as well Olive Productions.
It makes some people just wonder, Dick Clark made millions off of those that he booked for some of these tours...And he did die a rich man, who had his hands into many areas of the entertainment industry.
Dick Clark was a great man, and did so much for many people while he was alive. So now in death, is he reaching out from his grave to make it better for those that were hurt wile hewas alive?
What about Jackie Wilson, being buried first in an un-marked grave and then being buried with a nice tombstone and a better grave...all with donations from his many fans!

If this is the DKE "Foundation", it probably handles major donations to philanthropies, scholarships, leadership seminars, etc. and Mr. Clark's donation may have been designated for something specific. Greek organizatoins do a lot of good and all of them are not wealthy - as all of their members are not wealthy. I take offense at some of the comments.

Addition to #19 - this would have been a donation to a NATIONAL organization (the Foundation) and not to his individual chapter.
