UPDATE:  Even though Bobby's been sprung from the pokey, he's still not entirely free.  He's under house arrest and has to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet for a grand total of 8 days.  Nice gig.

It's a testament to how incredibly screwed up our justice system is ... Bobby Brown -- who was sentenced to 55 days in jail for his 3rd DUI -- just served a grand total of 9 HOURS in jail ... TMZ has learned.

Brown checked into L.A. County Jail at 9:58 AM Wednesday.  He was released at 6:58 PM.  Interesting ... an L.A. County Sheriff's spokesperson said just days ago Brown would serve 9 days ... but the jails are bursting at the seams and this is what happens ... kind of a joke, don't you think?

Brown was arrested in October after driving erratically on an L.A. street.  He pled no contest to DUI and driving on a suspended license.  It was his second DUI arrest in 7 months.

Bobby is on 4 years probation and has to attend alcohol ed classes for 18 months.

These DUIs freebies will continue. If one of these known alcoholics are responsible for the injury/ death of a loved one, the Court system should be held liable.

It must be nice to be a celeb and have money with good attorney's. They would have thrown me under the jail with 3 DUI's and driving with a suspended license. Not haten' but damn, hope he doesn't screw this one up..... Hey! Bobby I can be your personal driver for 75k yr.

Celebrity justice doesn't exist here in Arizona. Former Diamondback player and announcer Mark Grace got 4 months in jail for his second DUI (he also was driving on a suspended license and without his interlock device) and is serving it in tent city. And many think he still got off too lightly.

I personally had to do jail time for my DWI..and I had to stay the full sentence, no special treatment, no getting picked up after a few tears.. I think its sick that these people, sometimes, are considered "role models" yet not one expects responsibility for their actions and what they done.. not everyone has a money tree out back... Between drugs n booze, maybe bobby should focus on his daughter..
