Ralph Lauren Sued

He's Shifty

In a Very Bad Way

Preppy Ralph Lauren should stick to yachting ... because his driving sucks ... according to a new lawsuit.

Ralph invited Oprah to his opulent, well-decorated Colorado Double RL Ranch back in 2011. One of them had a bright idea -- doing an interview in his vintage 1948 Jeep ... which we're guessing smelled like perfumed potpourri.

A guy who was outfitting the whip with microphones was working near the back bumper when Ralph took the wheel and suddenly shifted into reverse ... violently striking him -- at least that's what he alleges in a new lawsuit.

041613_oprah_ralph_launchThe dude -- who worked for Harpo -- says he suffered injuries to his head, body and limbs, muscles, tissues, nerves and blood vessels in his head.  He wants more than $50k to cover his troubles and is suing both Ralph and Harpo.

The good news ... the courtroom will smell fabulous!

I don't believe any lawsuit that takes you two years to file. If his injuries were sooo bad (or even existent), he would have filed a claim much sooner than he did. I suspect the dude is broke and just looking for an easy pay day.

he must ended suffering terrible head wounds, because he waited 2 years to sue... this accident made him an idiot, and a brainless parasite.

Wow ...

I can't imagine Oprah or her insurance company not paying for the guys injuries if they are as he claims. Clearly $50k is a deal for personal injury - especially when nerves/muscles are involved. Something doesn't seem right.

He might have waited two years because he's been trying to settle with the insurance. If it happened as he says, he deserve it. Very reckless to back up without looking behind

So, in other words. He got tapped with the bumper. My question is how in the heck does he have head injuries, he must be very short

Seems like this would be cover under workman's comp. But their not going to pay him for "emotional distress just medical bills and time off. Any extras he would not be entitled to. Same as a slip and fall or any other accident.

I'm willing to wager that this guy is exaggerating. Head injuries? From a bumper? Going slow?

I'll give TMZ fifty cents if they finally stop using "whip" to mean "car."
A 1948 Jeep ain't nobody's "whip."

Welcome to America...where everyone is sue happy!! Because of stupid people who sue for everything, we will soon have to sign a waiver to get coffee!

I'm sure a strike to the head with a polo mallet and then a forced viewing of Oprahs mellons will resurrect his memory to the correct tune of things

Sounds about right if that had happened to RL or O they would have been airlifted to the hospital but since it happened to one of the little people they just say screw 'em.

Ah, sue your employer, Harpo. It was their outing, their business.
