Lil Wayne

FLAG TRAMPLE WAS AN ACCIDENT

I Didn't See It There

6/18/2013 9:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

0618_lil_wayne_flag_youtubeLil Wayne is lying through his diamond-encrusted teeth ... claiming he didn't INTENTIONALLY step on the American flag during a video shoot ... despite the fact he can be seen looking down on Old Glory several times during the performance.

Wayne just tweeted about his controversial video shoot for "God Bless Amerika" in New Orleans ... saying, "I didn't step on the flag on purpose! It's a scene in a video where the flag drops behind me and after it drop it's just there as I perform."

Translation -- I swear it was an accident ... please don't hate me.

Problem is ... during the video, you can see Wayne look down on the flag at several points in the shoot ... yet continues to trample all over the stars and stripes.

So ... you buyin' Weezy's explanation?

He is big reason American's are doomed. This is the example of how people will look the other way in a few days and buy his albums and make dancing on the flag okay...unless your doing it in another country...then for some reason its on national news.

This is dumb

If they weren't filming a music video then I'd agree. But what was he suppose to do, yell "cut! Make sure the flag falls backwards" ? I can bet the scene is framed so the flag falls to reveal the people behind while he raps. This wasn't on purpose. I do not like Lil Wayne but you guys are trying too hard again.

Some people think so highly of themselves, such a sense of entitlement, that they believe people will support them no matter how wrong their behavior is. In these times Americans (that is spelled with a c, just FYI) need to stick together and hold each other up, not trample down on our national symbol of strength that so many have died for. Idiot.

-- Justice Robert Jackson, from his majority opinion in West Virginia v. Barnette (1943), which struck down a law requiring schoolchildren to salute the flag.

We can imagine no more appropriate response to burning a flag than waving one's own, no better way to counter a flag burner's message than by saluting the flag that burns, no surer means of preserving the dignity even of the flag that burned than by - as one witness here did - according its remains a respectful burial. We do not consecrate the flag by punishing its desecration, for in doing so we dilute the freedom that this cherished emblem represents.

first off it was planned to drop the flag and allow it to fall to the ground- a disrespectful act in itself as the flag should never be allowed to touch the ground. secondly, since it's his video he would know they were planning to drop it behind him. thirdly it brushed against the back of his legs which would have tipped him off if he didn't know.. and fourthly, he was looking down as he walked down it. So don't even try to say you didn't know.

He is in the zone. He is not going to stop recording a video just to pick up a flag... Plus why is it a big deal if he does step on a flag? Get over yourself, you just don't like Lil Wayne and will nitpick at every little thing he does.
