Serena Williams

Issues BS Statement

After Steubenville Rape Comments

Serena Williams isn't exactly apologizing for the incendiary comments she allegedly made about the Steubenville rape victim ... because she's not entirely sure she said them, at least that's the way it seems from the BS statement she just released.

Williams came under fire this week over an article printed in Rolling Stone ... in which the tennis superstar is quoted as saying, "[the Steubenville rape victim] shouldn’t have put herself in that position" on the night she was raped at a high school party.

But moments ago, Williams issued a statement on her website -- in which she takes NO responsibility for the comments ... and suggests she may not have ever said them at all.

"I am currently reaching out to the girl’s family to let her know that I am deeply sorry for what was written in the Rolling Stone article. What was written – what I supposedly said – is insensitive and hurtful, and I by no means would say or insinuate that she was at all to blame."

The statement begs the obvious question -- DID YOU MAKE THE COMMENTS OR NOT??

Serena didn't say anything wrong! That girl shouldn't have been drinking and being a little hot ass mess! She did not deserve to be raped, but she made a bad decision, and the boys made a worse one!!

You have used the expression "begging the question" incorrectly. It does not mean to generate or stimulate or raise an actual question. This is a common error, but Harvey should know better, being a lawyer.

NO ONE should have been drinking, if that was the case the boys and this poor girl wouldn't be in the situation that their in. But the sooner that we teach are youth not to drink and never take advantage of anyone when they are not in the right state of mind the better off we will all be!

She needs to stick to what she does best... which does not involve giving her opinion in any way. What happened was tragic. What that girl did was nothing out of the ordinary for many teenagers. She was at a a party with people she thought were friends. And to the parents who say that their daughter would never be in the position of being at a party at 16... think before you speak because teens are much more sneaky than you think. Do not ever think you know everything your child has done. And I know if that was Serena's daughter she would not dare say the things she said. Thats very sad and irresponsible for her to make those comments.

Good call: I too would like to know if Serena Williams said that a woman did or did not deserve to be raped because of her actions because no woman deserves to be raped, period.

Serena thinks that the Rape Victim is to Blame, What about the Parents of Several Houses that allowed the Underage Students to Drink Alcohol at their houses. The Students that were also Drinking that took a 16 year old girl who was passed out drunk Raped her and Photographed her they should not be held responsible. Serena is Making this a Race issue, Because the Rapist are Black and the Victim is White.

Yes it's obviously the rape victims fault, just like its the women walking down the street at nights fault, or a girls fault for having sick disgusting family members. Hey I have an idea Serena, how about instead of the girls parents teaching her better like you've so stated, how about the boys parents teach them not to be disgusting animals and treat women properly... Dumb ****...
