Rolling Stone

'Bomber' Cover

Banned at 7-Eleven

7/18/2013 8:20 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Rolling Stone's cover story about the Boston Marathon bomber just got the magazine yanked out of nearly 2,000 7-Eleven stores, and more could follow ... TMZ has learned.

The omnipresent convenient store is joining the national outrage over the mag's upcoming issue with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the cover, and an investigation into his life leading up to the bombing.

A rep for 7-Eleven, Inc. tells TMZ it "will not sell the Aug. 1 issue of the Rolling Stone magazine in its company-operated stores."

There are 1,700 company operated stores -- and another 5,900 franchised stores. The rep says they'll also urge those franchise owners to pull the issue.

Yesterday, CVS, Walgreens, and Stop & Shop all said they will not sell the issue either.

the grocery chain that my husband works for has strongly urged their stores to keep this off their shelves. Good!

For those arguing why they don't put the victims on the cover instead, here's your answer, though you likely can't handle the truth: Americans are barbaric. They don't want to know about the victims. They're hungry for information on what makes this kid tick.
Doubt me? Put them both on competing covers with corresponding articles inside and see which sells more copies...

Good for you 7-11. I will be sure to spend my money with you!

Rolling Stone should have put the victims on the cover and this guy as a story of why they did what they did. Not on the cover.

And people wonder why America is a laughing stock.

Good! The mag should be banned outright till their next issue with a different cover. Make them pay for being too desperate to think about what they are really doing. I get that mags like this become less relevant by the hour and sell far less than back in their hay day when music actually meant something to enough people that they were willing to read about it. That interest in music dies with digital and the fewer and fewer real recording "artist's that exist today.

Jan Wenner sunk lower than snake spit on this one. He went lower underground than any paparatzi, entertainment journalist etc. It's embarrassing for his desperate little magazine no one reads.
This bomber sub human is not even a recording artist so putting that aside aswell, when did Rolling Stone decide to be Time Magazine? What if this motherless, directionless sub human was real ugly with face warts and pimples, would they have posted his picture on the cover of their magazine? Is their concept that music should be freely associated with mass murderers who should by any reasonable level of goodness, no longer be allowed to exist let alone be on the cover of a magazine; albeit a dying desperate one but..

So the news is out Jan Wenner did worse than sell out, much much worse. Just ask anyone, no really ANYONE.

I think this kid is innocent.

Rolling Stone is trying to turn the Boston bomber into a cute lil misunderstood teenage heartthrob with big brown eyes. It's vile. They should be ashamed. And their excuse for running the cover and the sympathetic coverage toward the bomber is pathetic.

Good for 7-Eleven. Boycott Rolling Stone Magazine.

They're trying to "normalize" islamic mass murder, probably b/c they've been told to. Remember, their reporter Michael Hastings was driving toward LAX at 4:30AM in a hurry to make a flight when suddenly his Mercedes exploded and they found the engine block 200 feet away.

The magazine's "explanation" of putting this Chechen bomber on the cover said something like they're trying to "explore the complexities of how a tragedy like this could happen." Folks, here's the complexity in 1 sentence: MOSELMS HAVE BEEN SLAUGHTERING EVERYBODY THEY CAN FOR THE PAST 1,400 YEARS. That's the complexity, Rolling Stone. Stop trying to normalize islamic mass murder b/c it's NOT NORMAL.

Corporations banning it is dumb. People don't have to buy it if they don't like it. I personally think there's nothing wrong with writing the article but he should not have been put on the cover like that.

If it was TIME or LIFE would anyone care? Really people, they're just reporting the news. Calm down.

Good for them. I hope other corporations follow them, Walgreens, CVS, etc. so that the message could get across and making Rolling Stone realize what they've done.

I see both sides of the issue here. Primarily, majority of the public is going to find this revolting and with good reason. But on the other hand I guess using this photo on the cover shows that a criminal can be anyone, even people who are young and attractive. Not sure yet what my thoughts are.

Weren't there murder conspiracy theories about Jim Morrison also? Maybe he is the next Jim Morrison. They allegedly killed off Morrison at the magic age of 27 when many of the pop stars died mysteriously.

He had been consorting with a satanic witch when he died of an overdose in a bathtub. It looks very suspicious to me.

This kid is probably just the next sacrifice of the young and promising to the demon gods of the Illuminati.
