Famous Ex-Scientologists

Leah Remini's A Hero

8/10/2013 12:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Leah Remini
is the new QUEEN of the ex-Scientologists -- according to two famous defectors ... because she had the iron gonads to stand up to the Church.

As you know ... Leah filed a missing person's report with the LAPD ... claiming Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige ... hadn't been seen for 6 years.  Detectives found Shelly and determined she's fine.

Marc and Claire Headley -- two outspoken, former high-ranking Scientologists are praising Leah for her testicular fortitude. Claire tells us, "Shelly was seen for the first time in 7 years. At least we know she's alive."

Claire is skeptical that Shelly is exercising free will, and believes the outreach by Leah will show Shelly that people care about her "on the outside."

Marc believes Shelly was "trotted out" to LAPD officers by Scientology handlers, but a source connected to the Church tells TMZ that's ridiculous.  The LAPD also tells TMZ ... they have concluded Shelly is not being held against her will.

I am still not convince! The investigating detective is not the only one that has to be convince this woman is not dead and not kept against her own free will. The World is watching and like it or not LAPD there are many that are concern about this woman well being associated with this God forsaken Scientologists church.

I commend Leah for caring enough to speak out on not only Shelly Miscavige but the people in general behalf in wanting answers to unanswered questions.
We the people would like to see Shelly personally ourselves, have DNA tested to make sure it's actually her and not some dummy decoy lookalike to throw us all. Where's the proof detectives? Plus who in their right mind trust LAPD these days?

Scientology was finished from the start. It is a novelty, a gimmick...and so inevitably those in power there became desperate, relatively quickly, to find 'other methods' of 'controlling the flock'...a method other than "giving them faith in something that has no basis in science, but rather in theology; faith".

A religion based on science, that believes our 'gods' to be an alien intelligence far more advanced...even if this turns out to be would be part of our natural universe, part of scientific discovery....nothing to do with faith or spirituality or belief in a far deeper meaning to our existence.

They have shifted to cult status not by choice, but by necessity. Only the weakest minded of humanity will be swayed by these methods now. Drones, lemmings...those seeking comfort in rigid structure and authoritative hierarchy. The apathetic, the lazy, sadly...the less intelligent and vulnerable as well.

There is nowhere to go but down for an organization that displays this level of disregard for commonly accepted morality, this level of contempt for those who have naively been its' lifeblood.

Hey, Cruise...Tommy...wake up that money encrusted noodle of yours and save your image before it's too late. Put your full support behind Leah Remini and begin the journey to repairing the damage done by your own naivete...that your unbelievable gifts in life... where going to be parlayed into you and buddy David Miscarriage being the next Messiah to the people. Get over it.

Your a great movie star Tom Cruise. Born to do it. You're no Jesus though, ok? Accept it....end your 'religious venture' and get back to basics...before you smear your movie star legacy with narcissistic lunacy.

Wow ...

Leah is a hero in my eyes. I doubt Shelley is there willingly. I've been watching some youtube videos on the COS, with ex members, including the Headley's - OMG! What a sick, monstrous "church" - nothing but a cult.

I love this woman. Strong, opinionate and lovely. If she feels something is wrong with this woman she has every right to reach out to the authorities. I hope this woman is alive. It seems strange to me as well. I'm sure Leah knows better than most being that she been apart of that cult since she was 7 yrs old. Thank God she got out before something could have happened to her. Katie got out for go reason.

Scientology is nothing but some nightmare L Ron Hubbard cooked up while he was tripping on acid.

I bet anything Shelly has a mental illness. Scientologists believe that ANY mental illness can be cured without medicine or psychiatrists just using Scientology alone. If the wife of the head of the church has mental illness it would be hugely embarrassing to the church. So what do you do? Keep her hidden away from everyone. While Leah won't be able to do much to stop Scientology (they are too big and powerful), I do applaud her for trying.

If Shelly is okay show us. Where is she and why doesn't she want to show her face? This is very fishy and LAPD is lying. Leah is a hero and should not give up until she sees Shelly herself.

What kind of CHURCH holds their leader's spouse hostage while he carries on an adulterous relationship on the side?

What kind of CHURCH will not allow parents and children to reunite once their is a break from the church? Is this humane?

What kind of CHURCH stops at nothing to smear their members once they leave the church?

What kind of church sends minions out to demand money from their flock to pay for old books that are hardly worth $3000.00 a set.

What kind of leader of a CHURCH places people in the HOLE for years because he doesn't like them anymore?

I live in Clearwater Florida home of FLAG. These church staffers I see walking around are nothing but people down on their luck being taken advantage of by the Church of Scientology.

This is no CHURCH that you go to on Sunday morning. It is more of a horrible exercise in people control to further the financial aims of only one person--David Miscavige. The man who has held his wife prisoner for the past 7 years.

Germany outlawed this cult and so should the U.S. All the top level members are speaking out about the kidnappings and slave labor can't all be lying.

Leah is a hero! And if Shelley is fine--why is she in hiding for 7 years? And why are people in this cult not allowed to ask about her? Bring her out--let her speak, let people ask her questions. Not going to happen. Not being held against her will my ass.
