Amanda Bynes' Mom

Drops Bid for

CONSERVATORSHIP

Amanda Bynes
' mom is dropping her bid to get a permanent conservatorship, but not because she's turning her back on her very ill daughter ... it's because she already has the ammo she needs to protect her.

Amanda's mom was slated to go to court Monday to make the temporary conservatorship permanent.  But here's the deal.  Amanda is currently on an LPS hold -- translation, doctors have a tighter rein on Amanda than her mother would have with a conservatorship.

And there's a twist.  Doctors have given Amanda's mom the power to make medical and financial decisions for her daughter under the LPS hold.

The mom has already exercised her power by getting Amanda admitted long term to UCLA Medical Center.

Bottom line.  There's no need for a conservatorship anymore, so she's withdrawn her petition.

And finally, and sadly, we're told there has been no real improvement in Amanda's condition.

Sad. Hope she gets better but glad for her sake that she's no longer by herself in dealing with it.

If you want to know how she got this way,
do a simple search on TV producer
"Dan Schneider".

I feel so bad for Amanda Bynes. I hope this shows what can happen when you are a young star in the biz. It sounds like she came from a good family but there are so many predators out there. I keep hearing rumors of all these kids that have been sexually assaulted by producers, agents & other people in he entertainment business. Someone needs to stand up and speak up about what is really going on with these kids. Amanda is not the first child star to have a great career (she also was never in trouble) to then have a breakdown. I truly believe she had something happen to her that has caused this to happen. Get well Amanda I hope you find your way soon.

Poor girl, thank god she was 5150'd, I dread to think what could've happened if she was still out and about. So sad, I hope she improves with treatment.

Ok, so who handles her finances while she's mentally "incompetent"? Who pays for the doctor bills while she's locked up? If the parents don't have some sort of conservatorship, how are things handled financially for her??

Doctors having full control? NO THANKS. Doctors kill more people a year than gunshots do. It's called medical advice for a reason. If you don't want to follow it, then you don't have to. The patient or patients family should be the only ones in charge, NOT the people who stand to make money. How nice of the doctors to "give control" to Amanda's mother regarding treatment etc....as if they had the right to give her control. What happens when her mother doesn't like the advice or wants her to leave treatment? Will they take "control" away? This is too sick for words.

That's really not that surprising if you think about it. It's only been two months. Mental illness is a very complicated thing to treat; the right ****tail of meds can take months or even years to get right.

She is only "sick" as her bank balance. $400,000 a year? Yeah she's about a good year and a half "sick",
Maybe two years if her portfolio does well.

It's amusing to read all these "well-wishing" comments. Wasn't so long ago the same people were taking shots at her, saying hurtful things.

Hypocrites.
